The methodology of scientific narrative psychology is content analysis. Given that different
forms of narrative psychology also use content analytic methods, the paper outlines the specifics of sci-
entific narrative psychological content analysis (narrative categorical content analysis, NARRCAT) by
contracting it with other forms of content analysis, i.e. categorial and correlational analysis. Similar to
other forms of content analysis, narrative content analysis is also performed with computer support.
Therefore the paper discusses language technological requirements and opportunities of different
forms of content analysis. It also discusses epistemological presuppositions of each content analytic
methodology.
Keywords: scientific narrative psychology, categorial content analysis, correlational content anal-
