Presenter:
“Hello and welcome to NWRC News, I’m your host James Thopmson.
Today we face a worldwide pandemic and where here to shed a little light
on the situation,
the corona virus is a disease with a virus strain of Severe acute
respiratory syndrome.
First appearing on the 1st of December 2019 in Wuhan china the virus has
since infected over 3 million people worldwide to date.
Symptoms include; Cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing,
fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
With and incubation period of 1-14 days the virus spreads due to Human-
to-human transmission via respiratory droplet.”

Presenter:
“Today we have got NWRC student Benn Anderson here to share his
perspective on the virus and let us know how it’s effecting him.
Hello there Benn how’s it’s going”

Interviewee:
“Hello there James, its going as well as it can haha”

Presenter:
“Haha that’s good to hear, so Benn you’re a student here at the NWRC,
how’s the current situation affecting you and your course?”

Interviewee:
“Yeah its tougher than usual I must admit, although I am very lucky here
to have the resources at home to be able to continue with my course
although I still struggle because of the lack of time that you are now able
to have with your lecturers.”
Presenter:
“Well I hope all goes well for you Benn, I also hear that you work part time
at a local pub here in Derry, is that right?”

Interviewee
“Yes that’s correct James although obviously we’ve had to close due to
the situation”

Presenter:
“And how is that closure affecting your day to day life”

Interviewee:
“I mean not too much to be honest James, again I am quite lucky as I am
able to be furloughed, but I must say I do miss the working environment
and my colleagues.”

Presenter:
“Haha well hopefully soon you’ll be right back to work, unfortunately Benn
that’s all we’ve got time for there but it was very nice talking to you and I
wish you the best with your studies.

Interviewee:
“No bother, thanks for having me on”

Presenter:
“Benn Anderson there a student here at the NWRC, now to find out what
you can do at home to protect yourself and your family against
coronavirus.
Our tips for you today are brought to you by our health expert Garry
Barnes, over to you Garry”
Health Expert:
“Cheers James, our tips here today folks are easy and simple to
remember, all you have to do to keep you and your family safe is:

- Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds


- Stay isolated as much as possible
- Only make essential trips outdoors
- Avoid touching your face
- Social distance from members whom you do not live with

and as long as you follow these tips folks you should remain happy and
healthy during these difficult times, back to you James”
