Chapter 12: Glycogen Supercompensation

This is one of my favorite mass building procedures. Rather than ending with
some examples, as I have in other chapters, I am going to start with some before
entering into a discussion of the theory and application of this amazing
technique. Of note – I will be using carbohydrate depleting/loading
interchangeably with glycogen supercompensation.
My first example is C.V. When C.V. first came to me in the gym and asked for
help, he was a tall, very athletic looking young man who was an international
competitor in judo as a teen. His new goal in life? Bodybuilding. He had one
major concern: all of his previous training, diet, etc. had been geared toward
the
grueling sport of competitive judo. He was built for it, too. Long arms and legs,
with a well built but ‘small massed’ body. We had some serious needs for mass
with his height, especially to get him toward his bodybuilding aspirations.
