3 PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS:
3.1 Review and become familiar with entire procedure before beginning Calibration Process.
WARNING
WARNING
For PMEL use, earth ground is not provided thru J1 power connector. An
external earth ground is required to comply with electrical safety. Failure to do
so may result in hazardous voltage on the TI case.
3.3 Connect external earth ground to TI case and connect TI J1 POWER as follows:
A 28 VDC HI
B 115 VAC/400 Hz HI
3.4 Connect Test Equipment to 115 VAC/60 Hz, POWER switches to on, and allow 15 minutes warm-up.
4 CALIBRATION PROCESS:
NOTE
Unless otherwise specified, verify the results of each test and take corrective
action whenever the test requirement is not met, before proceeding.

4.2.4 Adjust TI TACH RPM control fully CCW and verify the PERCENT RPM indicator displays .F.
4.2.5 Slowly adjust TI TACH RPM control fully CW. The PERCENT RPM indicator will begin to display at about
16.7 percent. Adjust TI TACH RPM control fully CW and verify display indicates 110.0 percent or greater.
4.2.7 Set Oscilloscope controls to measure a sine wave of 20 V p-p at about 70 Hz.
4.2.8 Disconnect Phasemeter REF and SIG inputs and connect to Oscilloscope CH A and B respectively.
4.2.9 The Oscilloscope must display a sinusoidal waveform with an amplitude of 18 to 22 V p-p on both
channels.
4.2.10 Set the Frequency Counter controls to measure a sine wave of 20 V p-p at about 70 Hz. Ensure input
Impedance switch is set to 1 MΩ and ATTEN switch is set to X10 or X20.
4.2.11 Disconnect the Oscilloscope. Connect TI TACH A and TORQUE DC (Black) to Frequency Counter HI and
LO respectively.
4.2.12 Adjust TI TACH RPM control for 100% as monitored on TI PERCENT RPM indicator.

4.2.14 The Frequency Counter must indicate 69.8 to 70.2 Hz (14245 to 14326 μs).
4.2.15 Adjust TI TACH RPM control for 30% as monitored on TI PERCENT RPM indicator.
4.2.17 The Frequency Counter must indicate 20.8 to 21.2 Hz (47169 to 48076 μs).
4.2.18 Set TI TACH RPM control fully CCW. Set TI 115 VAC POWER to OFF, disconnect setup and test cables
from TI.
