Art is a kind of talent that you gain by observation, experience, experiments and study
or maybe it is god gifted. It may be a work done for decorative purposes. Art is the
depiction of our thoughts, imagination, emotions and feelings.

Design

Definition:
Conversion of an idea into a form, mould or model is called design. A design is a
person’s perspective which is developed according to a customer’s need.

Difference
• Art is the form of self-expression that gives inner peace while design is for the
satisfaction of a client.
• Art is mostly inspired by nature. Design is a proper way to convey a message
and comes with a purpose to motivate.
• Art is a talent in which you work with your imagination while design is a skill in
which you use your ideas and intelligence.
• An artist is not bound by time colour scheme he could paint anything at any time
while designer is restricted by the time and colour scheme that is helpful to
convey the message.
• Art is a journey that is accompanied by the artist’s visuals while design is a
process which is done according to the audience mind set.
• Design is an answer for everyone’s problem to the related case in a very
simplified form while art leaves a question to be answered by others and to
provoke their thoughts about it
• Art connects with people in different ways, because it’s interpreted
differently.The fundamental purpose of design is to communicate a
message and motivate the viewer to do something.
• Art is judged by opinion, and opinion is governed by taste. Design
has an element of taste, but the difference between good and bad
design is largely a matter of opinion.
• An artist has natural ability. Of course, from a young age, the artist grows up
drawing, painting, sculpting and developing their abilities. Design, though, is
really a skill that is taught and learned. You do not have to be a great artist
to be a great designer; you just have to be able to achieve the objectives of
design.
