Dear friends…
I am in the process of compiling questions with authentic options and answers.. Having the right set of
options is extremely important for AIIMS exam… Really thanks for the nice response wrt to the
questions…
a. CD1a
b. TdT
c. Cytokeratin
d. CD3
Answer: Cytokeratin
Thymoma is CK positive whereas all others markers are seen in both: thymoma and ALL. See below the
image of common markers to differentiate between the two.
Q3. Patient comes to ER with severe bleeding. Blood group is unknown. Which FFP will you give..?
a. O+ve
b. O-ve
c. AB
d. A+
Answer: AB
Group O people have both Anti-A and Anti-B so group O FFP can ONLY be given to group O patients.
Group A plasma contains anti-B. A FFP can only be given to patients who are group A or O ie only
patients who do not have group B red cells. Group B plasma contains anti-A. B FFP and can only be given
to patients who are group B or O. Group AB plasma does not contain any Anti-A or Anti-B. AB FFP can be
given to patients who are group AB, A, B or O. Group AB donors are called ‘universal plasma donors’.

The virus is named after the Malaysian village where it was first discovered. This virus along with Hendra
virus comprises a new genus designated Henipavirus in the subfamily Paramyxovirinae
Virus has been isolated from: Brain and spinal fluid of victims, environmental samples of bat urine and
partially-eaten fruit
Case fatality rate of NiV ranges from 40-70% although it has been as high as 100% in some outbreaks
Mode of transmission: Infected bats shed virus in their excretion and secretion such as saliva, urine,
semen and excreta but they are symptomless carriers. The NiV is highly contagious among pigs, spread
by coughing. Direct contact with infected pigs was identified as the predominant mode of transmission
in humans
Precipitating cause: Loss of natural habitats of bats. As the flying fox habitat is destroyed by human
activity the bats get stressed and hungry, their immune system gets weaker, their virus load goes up and
a lot of virus spills out in their urine and saliva

b. Phagocytosis
c. Emperipolesis
d. ?
Emperipolesis is an uncommon biological process, in which the cell exists as viable cell
within another and can exit at any time without any structural or functional
abnormalities for either of them. This process can either be physiological or pathological
and may be a pathognomonic feature of certain diseases. Histiocytes and
Megakaryocytes are involved in Emperipolesis normally but tumour giant cells in
Hodgkin’s disease and Rosai-Dorfman disease are pathologic conditions in which this
process is seen.
