Introduction:

This report contains the final outcomes of the whole summer training; the

outcomes are summarized into two main categories (tasks I have done & things I

.have learn)

As mentioned in the first weekly report, I was trained in Saudi Aramco Ras Tanura

loss prevention division, specifically in project and support unit. The period of the

summer training was ten weeks and I got the access to the refinery so I can work in

the field.

Loss prevention department main job is to ensure safety at Saudi Armco

company. It covers all kind of activities or even a regular work inside the company.

For examples, any work permit has to be checked, before any plant starts working

the safety of the design has to be checked. Spacing and equipment damages are the

most popular things to inspect in a plant design. The department are responsible of

.eight divisions including Ras tanura area division as shown

petrochemicals manufacturing. It manages the world's largest proven conventional

crude oil and condensate reserves of 260.2 billion barrels and the world's fourth-largest

natural gas reserves of 288.4 trillion standard cubic feet. Saudi Aramco is also among

the top producers of natural gas, maintaining the fourth-largest natural gas reserves in

the world.

55,000 employees. Operations span the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and through

subsidiaries and joint ventures, Saudi Aramco's activities span the globe.

Committed to transforming for the future, Saudi Aramco is leading the drive to solve

some of the issues that matter most to the global energy industry. By 2020, Saudi

Aramco will have evolved from being the leading oil and gas company that it is today,

into a fully integrated, truly global energy and chemicals enterprise with extensive

operations across the globe. By aiming to unlock the potential of its people and

enterprise, our parent company hopes to facilitate a diversified and sustainable

expansion of the Kingdom's economy and enable a globally competitive and vibrant

Saudi energy sector.

China, Egypt, Japan, the Netherlands, Republic of Korea, Singapore, United Arab

Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States. Investment in the refineries and

distribution networks of these companies allows our parent company to continue

reliable delivery of energy to customers around the globe.

Some of Aramco big projects:

Khurais Field Development

Khurais began production in June 2009 and is the largest integrated oil project in
company history and the largest in the history of the industry. The development adds
1.2 million bpd of Arabian Light crude oil production capacity, dehydrates 320 million
scfd of gas and produces 80,000 bpd of NGL.

In 2008, the project component to expand Southern Area seawater injection capacity
by 4.5 million bpd to support increased production from the Khurais and Ghawar
fields was completed, marked by the inauguration of the water injection plant of the
central oil processing facility in November of that year.

Infrastructure work for Khurais included an air strip, residential facilities for up to
1,000 personnel and an industrial complex to handle facility maintenance.
Karan Gas Project
Karan is the first non-associated offshore gas field project being developed by

Saudi Aramco in the Kingdom. The project, located about 160 kilometers north of

Dhahran, will produce 1.8 billion scfd of Khuff gas when completed, and will include

facilities to transport gas from the field via a subsea pipeline to onshore processing

facilities at the Khursaniyah Gas Plant. The Karan program, scheduled for completion

in 2013, calls for four producing platforms, a tie-in platform and a 110-kilometer

subsea pipeline to deliver the gas onshore.

Shaybah Field Expansion

The Shaybah expansion program came on-stream in the summer of 2009 and

increases Arabian Extra Light crude oil production capacity from the current 500,000

bpd to 750,000 bpd. The facilities include a gas-oil separation plant (GOSP), gas

compression and injection facilities, and a 217-km pipeline.

Saudi Aramco Total Refining & Petrochemical

Company (SATORP)

On June 22, 2008, Saudi Aramco and Total SA established Saudi Aramco Total

Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) to develop a 400,000 bpd world-

class, full-conversion export refinery in Jubail. The refinery will be designed to process

Arabian Heavy crude oil to produce high-quality refined products that will meet the

most stringent global product specifications.

In June 2009, a significant milestone was reached with awards made for Equipment,

Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts, including the construction of

distillation, hydrotreating, conversion, coker and other units. This was followed by an

EPC contracts signing ceremony in July 2009 with contractors from Saudi Arabia,

France, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

Yanbu' Export Refinery Project

The proposed Yanbu' Export Refinery is a 400,000 bpd full-conversion refinery

located on the Red Sea coast. The bidding for the project's EPC contracts was re-

launched in June 2009, and invitations for bids for early work and major packages

have been issued to prequalified local and international contractors. The Yanbu' facility

will process Arabian Heavy crude oil to produce ultra low-sulfur diesel, and gasoline

and-benzene.

Activities and responsibilities

Week one:

In the first week they give me tour in Ras Tanour facilities, because I have told

them that I've never visit Ras Tanoura before. In first couple days they give me the

access to refinery and office and helmet and protective cloths etc..

Week two:

In the second week they give me and the new employees and the other students

safety orientation, to know what to do in emergencies such as: if there gas leak what

the first thing to do and the answer was wearing mask and save the people who got

injured.
Week three & four:

In the third and fourth week I did the Quarterly Safety inspections to check the

items status of the RT Residential & Reaction Svc Division. It was the 2 nd quarter

inspection. We found thirty-six items that need to be cheeked by us and the fire

department. Twelve items passed their deadline and four of them were major while

the rest were minor. The deadline was on 3/05/2016, however all items were

repeated from the first quarter inspection.

Week five & six:

In the fourth weeks I did the Quarterly Safety inspections was on Wednesday

31/08/2017 to inspect some facilities in the community and we had a meeting to

divide the QSI among the responsible divisions. There was a list of inspection groups

with each group has its area of facilities. After the meeting we chose two groups to

inspect them. All facilities we have assigned for were unclear of notes.
Week seven & eight:

In the seventh and eighth weeks we did the Quarterly Safety inspections to

inspect the fire water system pump test at the ITC. The test of pump sequence has

failed because they were testing the pumps out of the operating rang. Also the

violations were given to a cable of workers for not wearing the appropriate safety

glasses and gloves.

Week nine & ten:

In the last two weeks we did the Quarterly Safety inspections was on Monday
7/09/2016 to inspect the community, the community contains Commissary, shops, Saudi
:Hollandi bank and offices. The following table shows the violations

Table 1: violations by different parts of the community

Violations Part of the community

 Storing combustible materials in the

employee offices.
 Unclean storage for fruits & vegetable. Commissary

Non Shops

Non Saudi Hollandi bank

 Sprinkler system has major problems.

 Storing combustible materials in the
Office building
employee offices.
Conclusion:

In the end of co-op program, I simply want to say that this co-op program

opportunity in Saudi Aramco was extremely useful for me from different points of

view. Also there are a no big difference between being students and being an employ,

because as students you have to work hard to earned grades but as employ you have

to work hard to get promotion and good salary. On the other hand, as students you

don’t have big responsibilities, because you're working for yourself to get high GPA but

as an employ you have to build good reputation for yourself and for your division.

Beside Saudi Aramco teach you how to be on time, and if you good team work that’s

mean you're going to have magnificent result. Also I gave my department a good

impression about me, so I hope to get offer from them in the future.
