To produce higher power output electricity using
solar panel
To use amorphous solar panel to ensure the
highest quality output by offering high conversion
 Objectiv efficiency
es To optimize the weight and assembly of the solar
panel to allow complete strength to the system
To design a strong model to withstand high wind
pressure
To design environment friendly and economical
solar food truck

2
Proposed in support of saudi vision 2030
Hundreds of food trucks in saudi Arabia are
polluting our surrounding through carbon
waste
 Backgrou Solar panel installation will convert the solar
energy into electrical energy.
nd Food truck are depleting scarce fossil fuel
resources unnecessarily
This idea is already in promotion phase in
America
It is commercial way of promoting
environment friendly practices.

3
Install solar panels on the roof of truck in
such a way that quality solar energy is being
captured for longer period of the day
Design a model which is compact in size to
 Design avoid fall during heavy winds
Constrai Keeping weight of whole system under 200
nts kg the more the weigh the more power is
required to operate
Using low voltage appliance on solar power
Keeping 2 functional batteries on truck

8
Power out of battery
Power output = current x voltage
P = IV
 Theoretic Capacity of DRYbattery
al Watt hour rating = Ampere hour rating
Calculati x voltage
ons Ah x V = Wh
Hypothetical calculation
44Ah x 12V = 528 Wh

9
Charging time of battery
 T=Ah / A
Hypothetical calculation for 120 Ah
Charging current for 120 Ah battery = 120 Ah x (10/100)
= 12 Amperes
 Theoretic Keeping the losses in mind we took 13 Amp for charging
al purpose then,
 Charging time for 120 Ah battery = 120 / 13 = 9.23 hrs.
Calculati  120 Ah x 40% of losses = 120 x (40 / 100) = 48
ons  120 Ah + losses = 120 + 48 = 168 Ah
 Charging Time of Battery = Ah / charging current
 12.92 = 168 / 13
 Charging time of battery = 13 hrs.
 So a 120Ah battery will take 13 hours to fully
charge
10
Discharging time of battery
Discharging time = Battery Ah x battery
 Theoretic volt / applied load
Hypothetical readings
al Battery Ah = 120 Ah Battery voltage = 12 V Applied load
Calculati = 100 watts

ons Discharging time = 120 Ah x 12 V / 100 W

Discharging time =12 Hrs.
After 40 % loss correction
12 x 40 / 100 = 4.8hrs.

Solar power is an immense source of directly
useable energy but is not been utilized like it should
be
Small, limited kitchens with minor loads can be
powered by solar fairly easily with enough roof
 Conclusi space.
on There is vast scope of turning fuel based food truck
into solar powered food truck.
Lack of availability of parts needed for project in
Saudi Arabia and importing these parts is very
expensive.

22
With energy efficiency practices in food truck design
and hybrid integrated solar panel design successful
solar powered food trucks are possible.
Direct use of solar energy is the only renewable
means capable of ultimately supplanting current
Future global energy supply from non-renewable sources,
Recommenda but at the expense of  time, effort and money
tion Modifications in design like a sun tracking
automated solar panel may result in better quality
and performance of solar powered food truck.
Schools/ Universities should pay special attention in
teaching and promoting solar power as it is our
future energy.
