Dear students,

Here is the list of instructions regarding the poster that you all must follow. I have also
attached a sample poster under this topic on LMS. I want all of you to recheck your posters
and make sure that you have implemented all these instructions. Failing to do so will directly
affect your marks. You all need to submit the posters on LMS.

Deadline for Poster Submission: 2nd April 2020, Thursday

1. Use PowerPoint or Illustrator for making the poster. Avoid using MS Word as it will
affect text size and many other aspects of the poster.

2. Font size for the title must be 80 – 100 pts., body text size: 40 – 50 pts

3. Maintain uniformity/consistency in the formatting throughout (font style, font size,

alignment, line spacing, etc.) Avoid having a lot of empty space surrounding the text.

4. Poster must include Abstract (aim, methodology, conclusion; in a summary),

Introduction (slightly longer than abstract having some background information),
Methodology (flow chart / smart art), Results, Conclusion, Acknowledgement, References
(Bibliography), in the same sequence.

5. Most importantly, follow the bibliography format for references, for example:

Acceptable format:

S. Awoke K, "Review on Production, Quality and Use of Camel Milk in Ethiopia", Journal of
Fisheries & Livestock Production, vol. 03, no. 03, 2015. Available: 10.4172/2332-2608.1000145.

Not acceptable:

Camel_Milk_in_Ethiopia
For References, to make your life easy you can use the website Citethisforme.com or just simply copy
it from Google Scholar if you have only few references

6. Mention your name right under the main title, and address/department name under
your own name, not in the same line

After mentioning your name and details at the top, you are not required to mention your name
and details anywhere else on the poster again. I am mentioning this as many of you have
written all the details again at the bottom. And many of you have written department name
next to your own name.

7. Logo must be placed next to the title. One logo is enough. Don’t paste it at the bottom.
8. Any image/table/graphs in the poster must be clearly labelled. Describe or mention what
the image is about in a single phrase and to sound more authentic, you can mention the source
as well from where the picture has been taken. See the examples below:

Figure 1: Detergent Test Results showing negative results

9. Take care of the colour scheme. You can use vibrant colours but make sure all the colours
and backgrounds go along. Don’t make it too multi-coloured as in a rainbow. Keep it elegant
and eye-catching at the same time.

10. Save your file as / File name: FirstnameSurname_GroupNo._BS3_AssignmentName

Example: WaniyaHameed_16_BS3_Poster

You all will follow the same format for file name while assignment submission for all your
assignments.

That’s all folks!
