Throughout human history, crises have been pivotal in developing our societies.
Pandemics have helped advance health-care systems, wars have fueled technological
innovations and the global financial crisis helped advance tech companies like Uber and
Airbnb. The present coronavirus pandemic will arguably not be an exception;
entrepreneurs can be expected to rise to the challenge.
Businesses play a key role both in helping society get through an economic crisis and in
creating innovations that shape society after a crisis. So, one key question is: how will the
ongoing crisis influence future society?
While it’s hard to predict the future, we can develop an understanding of what is ahead
by analyzing current trends.
As cases of coronavirus in Pakistan has been increase so rapidly and federal government
and province’s governments ordered for lockdown.
But it is a directly proportional that as lockdown started it brought many problems along
itself. The global pandemic and associated policies restricting people’s movements have
caused major disruptions to many businesses.
As a being citizen of Pakistan, I observed in my country that social distancing is reduced,
all the offices, big mart, malls, restaurants, bazaars, tourism operators and movie theatres,
automobiles industries, all institutional departments and universities has been closed.
Because of lockdown labor around the world and daily wager labors effected extremely
and private small business also effected.
I have observed major shifts in business practices. Working from home is the new norm,
as supply chain is highly effected and have seen a sharp drop in demand as consumers are
either unable to visit shops or lack the spare cash for nonessential purchases.
Challenges and Opportunities For entrepreneur after coronavirus in
Pakistan: -
As observed and according to the WHO report coronavirus’s fear will be remain last long
in the people’s mind and their superstitious behavior because of this they will use to
avoid to more social interaction and fear to go bazaar, malls and visit shop that is why
that situation in the future will arise new opportunities to innovate the supply chain and
know how to make suitable and comfortable more your consumer.
An online business and digital marketing have been very effective during lockdown
around the country and Pakistan as many small business owners, fabric companies started
online and digital way to communicate their consumer because that is the easy way to
satisfy the demand and their business will run.
both individual consumers and businesses are becoming accustomed to new forms of
business, such as online ordering for home delivery. Their established habits have been
disrupted, changing attitudes and expectations.
For example, the surge in video meetings creates comfort with this method of interaction,
and users learn how to be effective in meetings without face-to-face interactions.
After the shutdown, many people will expect more integration of online and offline
offerings. They will likely also be more at ease with using new technologies, especially
video conferencing that can also reduce travel costs and carbon emissions.
So as a being observer, online trading and online buying and selling and digital marketing
is adopting hugely around the world as the food, groceries, even medicines can be buying
and selling through and an individual avail this despite being at home because of this
facility time will be save more and traveling cost will be reduced which will be beneficial
for customer and this feature add more significance in the online marketing.
Many educational institution departments around the world started online classes, online
courses even attempting online papers so, our country and the world shift completely
towards online era. So, this is the great opportunity for private sector business owner and
entrepreneurs to make more innovate and easy their online system and way for online
learning and classes which will reduce the time and cost of also staff and students.
Many Young students, shopkeeper, and unemployed youth started their own online
marketing and home delivery service as this the best way to start and run their business
during lockdown and after the corona this will be great opportunity for a small business
owner and youth to use their that skill and make profit and good relation to their customer
through make them comfort to save their time and their travelling cost and satisfy their
demand and need.
So being an entrepreneur I’m seeing this as a great opportunity for entrepreneur that when
the coronavirus will be gone, he/she completely focus on online selling and buying. Innovate
easy supply chain and make easy interaction with his consumer through online and virtual
communication. Because of this online marketing time will be save more and traveling
cost will be reduced which will be beneficial for customer and this feature add more
significance in the online marketing.
Which businesses will be in high demand and which may suffer in losses or in
downfall?
Here I am telling about my personal imagination, opinion and observation
Business in high demand: -
1. Logistics business
In my opinion the logistic business will be high in demand because as the pandemic ends
the demands of consumer will increase so to satisfy and complete the need and demand
of customer, corporations, firms and companies increase their supply of goods and
service so private logistics firm can get better opportunities and increase their profit.
2. Construction and Developing Companies
During pandemic pm Imran khan allowed the construction companies that they can do
their work as it will be help in economy but many small firms and local business man are
still can not carry their work forward so in my opinion this sector will be in demand after
pandemic ends.
3. Groceries and food business: -
This business is basic need of individual people this business is very high demand during
coronavirus and it will be highly demand after the coronavirus end because is the basic
source and need of a people.
4. Medical and pharmaceutical business: -
As we know medicines some sort of medicines is necessary for almost every people. This
business sector is also high demand during lockdown even during corona virus period
government ease their restrictions on this sector because these are necessary and daily
record need of a good almost every individual and this business sector will be also high
demand after coronavirus.
5. Electronics and electrical business sector: -
In my opinion electronics and electrical are almost daily required product because these
product use in every house, every place, every construction side so during coronavirus
this sector is highly effected but it will be high in demand after the corona.
6. Tea cafeteria and restaurants business: -
This business I a mentioning here quarantine period and social distancing reduce physical
meeting, gathering between friends and family gathering so as the pandemic ends almost
everyone leave their homes and enjoy get themselves relax with their loved ones that’s
why this sector will be high in demand.
Business which may suffer in losses or in downfall?
1. Movie theater and cinema:
In my opinion this sector may faces losses for sometime even after the corona.
2. Bazaar and shopping malls: -
These businesses may face downfall after the corona ends because during corona virus
period online marketing and online service are available and that time people may satisfy
their needs so this may be face downfall.
3. Automobile business: -
This type of business also may face downfall because during coronavirus period people
spend their saving on their basic need and during coronavirus period, they are not able to
run their business or earn money that’s why this business may face downfall after corona.
4. Footwear business: -
I think this business may also face downfall after the corona are not high in demand.
5. Airline business and state agency: -
This business may face downfall after corona In Pakistan because we are talking about
the Pakistan this may be possible at that time pandemic may not be end in other countries
and they don’t allow any foreigner in their country so that’s why this business sector may
face losses
