THE ROLE OF GENERAL SECRETARY

YASH GIRI THE GENERAL SECRETARY OF SMT INDIRA GANDHI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-20 IS RESPONSIBLE FOR LEADING THE STUDENT COUNCIL.

1) Being the student representative, I invariably represent the student

population and have to voice/relay the concerns of the student
fraternity to the authorities chairing these committees.
2) Council members organize events throughout the year. Each of these
members is entrusted with the duty of encouraging the students in
participating cultural/technical/sports/extra-curricular activities through
the means of various sub-committees. I have to ensure that what kind
of requirement does the members need and the events are maintained
in order.
3) I need to allocate various funds taking into consideration a lot many
analytical factors, event budget projections, budgetary limitations, etc
to various entities in the council for program and event execution. To
prevent misuse, seeing to it that transactions happen under the
guidelines of the mentors.
4) To ensure that work happens professionally and take corrective action
wherever and whenever needed in all your capacity and authority.
5) My authority is to organize all institute events with great enthusiasm
and to ensure that the student council becomes more glorious and
fulfill the main purpose of helping each and every student to upgrade
their skills.
6) To maintain all the records of minutes of meeting.
7) I would approach with new useful changes for the betterment of our
college.
