with various agencies and other educational institutes which, in return, has paved

ARTS AND HUMANITIES STREAM

Students of Arts and Humanity under graduate programme learns multiple skills of
both science and arts will gain acclamatory skills of reasoning, problem analyzing,
innovative thinking, sharp communication skill and problem troubleshooting and

I. ARMY

Career as an army officer is always been a dream of a young and energetic youth of
India. Despite of being so much in demand, there is always shortfall of the
deserving candidates for this prestigious career. If you think you have that desire
and passion to do something for your country, then this is the career for you.

Eligibility

Through NDA (National Defense Academy)

Life at the NDA is great and it teaches you to adopt disciplines lifestyle as such
getting up early in the morning, exercising regularly, hardcore training for games
and academics and strictly following your other routines. For NDA entrance
following is the eligibility:

Education: Passed/appeared in 10+2 from any stream

Age Limit: 16.5 year to 19 years

Nationality: Indian

Gender Requirement: Only male candidates can join army through NDA

Through CDSE (Combined Defense Services Exam)

CDSE Exams are conducted twice a year by UPSC (Union Public Service
Commission). Exam notification is easily available in employment newspapers,
google and advertisements. Passed out candidates in CDSE exams are called for
interview for SSB (Service Selection Board).

For CDSE entrance following is the eligibility:

Education: Graduation or Post-graduation (in any stream) from any recognized


university with Math and Physics as compulsory subjects in 10+2.

Age Limit: 19 year to 24 years

Nationality: Indian

Marital Status: Single

Through Engineering Graduates

An engineer can join Indian Army directly. Following is the eligibility:

Education: Engineering Graduate from any recognized university and equivalent.


Age Limit: 20 year to 27 years

Nationality: Indian

Marital Status: Single

Through University Entrance Exams

It is called UES (University Entry Scheme) and it is non UPSC entrance without
giving any entrance exam. Engineering students in their pre-final years may apply
for UES through the website of Indian Army (www.joinindianarmy.nic.in) by filling
Common Application Form. Admission notification is usually published twice a year
between May to July and October to December every year.

Eligibility Criteria are:

 Age limit should be 18 to 24 years old.


 Engineering student in their pre-final year (3rd year) should apply.

Candidates should pass:

 Preliminary screening process of their application;


 Preliminary interview held in their colleges/universities;
 Service Selection Board;
 Medical Examination.

II. NAVY

There is no bigger job than marine engineer or merchant navy officer if you want to
live a lavish lifestyle with handsome salary, better career growth, time flexibility,
superior work culture and opportunities to travels around the world. It’s like a
dream come true. Candidates who failed to get selected in IIT for various reasons
can still apply for navy.

Merchant Navy Vs. Defence Navy

Career- It takes long you to decide which one you have to opt from the above.
Merchant navy is another name of commercial marine. Merchant navy assists global
trade by non-military ships for the economic prosperity and is governed by both
private and governmental shipping companies. Defence Navy, on the other hand, is
the part of the Nation’s military wing used to protect the water boundaries of the
country from its enemy countries in the times of international crises and thus
career in defence navy involves services for the respective country through duty on
warships.

Eligibility- Candidate can join merchant navy after his 12 th or Graduation but its
preferred to join merchant navy after 12 th. Following are the courses to join
merchant navy;
1. Bachelor of nautical science.
2. Bachelor in Marine Engineering.
3. B.Tech in Naval Architecture.
4. B.Tech in Marine Engineering.

Admission- For merchant navy both online and offline exams are conducted which
include psychometric test, interviews and medical examination. Entrance test are
MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) just like JEE Mains. General questions based on
10th and 12th science, English, math, G.K. and reasoning are asked. Candidates
selected in entrance exams have to go medical examination like eyesight, blood,
checking of any existing disease or any major/minor medical condition. After
undergoing successful medical examination, candidate is allotted confirmed
admission seat.

Pay scale- The pay scale in the merchant navy depends upon hierarchy of jobs and
the standards set by the ILO (International Labor Organization) and ITF
(International Transport Workers’ Federation). Merchant Navy is famous for its high
grade pay and glamorous lifestyle at the ship. On the contrary, pay scale in the
Defence Navy is as per the central government pay scale ranging from Rs. 33,119
to Rs. 35,543 base pay.

III. AIR FORCE

Working in IAF (Indian Air Force) is all about in the midst of supersonic jets, new
technologies, and experts of those technologies. Air Force provides you the most
unparalleled way of living a life equipped with all modern facilities and amenities. In
Air Force, there is job opportunities for a graduate, a 12 th pass out and a 10th
passed out candidates. You can join the Air Force immediately after completing
your 10th and secure your’s and your family’s future in a jump start. However IAF
mainly focus on the graduates for employment. The Air Force has various technical
and non-technical posts. As an IAF officer, you are there to strategize, lead ad
manage with skilled training in the environment you are stepped into. Facing all the
challenges and getting ready to fast pace you in the air, the IAF has everything in
it’s store from the most advanced combat aircraft to providing technical support. It
will be you who have to give your best. Selected students in IAF will undergo
rigorous training regime under one established unit of an IAF. Thereafter they are
allotted posts at any of the Air Force stations.
