1 Overview
The tutored project should allow you to apply your knowledge in a context similar to what you
may encounter in your future professional life. Each project is supported by a team of 4 to 5
students. It starts early October and ends late January (see below, "Project schedule")

You have two choices for your project:

 Define your project yourself. M NGUYEN Hoang will choose the members of each team.
But be careful: you must respect two conditions:
 This project will apply to the area of banking. You should choose a bank or a financial
establishment settled on the Vietnamese market regardless of the nationality of the
company. The choice of the company is important because it is necessary to find
information about this company.
 The project will be validated by UCV / Université de Rouen (see below, "Project
Schedule")
 In case of difficulty, you can choose among projects proposed by UCV.

2 Nature of the project

The project turns around the world of banking.
The choice of the topic remains relatively open:
 You have the choice of the company: Vietnamese or foreign; internationalized or
national or local banking products or services….
 You have the choice of the field: it can be about online, telemarketing, or brick and
mortar banking.

Examples of potential projects:

 Offering a high standard of service to professional customers
 Market studies
 How to improve the customer base in an agency
 Developing customer service and telemarketing.
 Improving the image of the bank among the general public
 Getting customers to new banking services
 Answering customers’ needs and triggering higher sales
 Improving the processing of claims to better the satisfaction of customers

1
 Sustainable development and banking
 Prospects of bank agencies faced with the development of online banking
 Need for quality customer contact in banking

3 Organization
Unlike an internship, the project does not involve a permanent presence in the company.
Once the subject is set during a meeting with the company’s boss, you work by yourselves.
However, it is strongly recommended to set up intermediate meetings in order to review the
progress of the project and / or reorient the subject if necessary.

Each project is supervised:

 At UCV, by a tutor (teacher)
 In the company, by a manager

You see the teacher tutor to supervise the organization of the project:
 To define of the project contract (see below)
 To check the project progress
 To prepare for the oral presentation

The manager will be there to answer substantive questions about the project. Nevertheless, the
two roles are complementary: the teacher tutor can suggest methods, tools, etc..
Similarly, the manager of the company will advise you in organizing and conducting the project.

4 Intermediate documents
4.1 The project brief:
It embodies the project's acceptance by the company, and by the students (see model in
appendix)

4.2 The project agreement:

This document specifies the commitment of the students and of the company. That is why it
must absolutely specify very clearly the project objectives, proposed methodology, as well as
the means to use. This agreement is signed, after examining the feasibility of the project, by the
teacher tutor, by the manager of the company, and the students.

The first page must imperatively contain the following:

The last and first names of the students

The academic year
The Company and the host unit
The name of the manager
The name of the tutor teacher
Project title
The term 'Project Agreement'

The agreement shall contain the following information:

 The objective of the project (what does the company want). You need to clearly state the
problem ("a problem well stated is half solved")

2
 The methodology: how will you solve this problem? Which means are you going to
implement?
 The organization: we must establish a list of tasks and try to schedule them (timetable)
 The estimated budget: any action inevitably generates a cost. It is therefore imperative to
clarify from the beginning, the financial terms of the project (photocopies, mailing,
telephone, travel expenses…)

The project contract should be returned to a specific date (see below, "Project schedule").

4.3 The intermediate report

It is a 4/5 page document.
It helps to take stock (around mid-term) about the work done compared to the objectives and
the timetable provided in the agreement. It may be the good time to reorient the project, in part
or in whole.

The first page must imperatively contain the same information as in the agreement except for
the term “intermediate results”:

Also included in the intermediate report:

 The recall of the project objectives, presentation of the company and its needs
 Goals to reach, expected outcomes, presentation of the different strategies to follow
(advantages and downsides) and only then, argue which approach has been selected and
why.
 The presentation demonstrating your organization and methodology. (State the different
steps of your project, the possible difficulties you could encounter, possible risks, financial
and legal dimension, provisional schedule, people who will be involved in the project, skills
and tools needed, etc.)

The intermediate report must be delivered at a specified date (see below, "Project
schedule") to both M NGUYEN Hoang at nguyenhoang@tmu.edu.vn and Vincent DORANGE
at vincent.dorange@univ-rouen.fr

5 Final report

Report content:
 Introduction (1 page)
 Core of the project strategy (presentation of the company and its needs, presentation of the
initial project and its rationale) (6/7 pages)
 Analysis of your organization (timeframe of activities, strategy followed, way you
communicated the project, financing of the project) (7/8 pages)
 Results and final assessment of the project (analysis of the results, study of the differences
between what was expected and what really happened, recommendations) (7/8 pages)
 Conclusion and mention about the difficulties and the positive contributions with managing
the project (1 page)

Do not forget to share your thoughts, to explain why you chose to use this methodology, this
possible course of action: you have to justify your choices.

3
Report presentation:
The report must be typed (Times New Roman size 12, single spaced) on the front of each page
and bound.
The graphics (maps, plans, charts, graphs…) are appreciated. They are always accompanied by
a key and a title. The appendices (maximum 10) are grouped at the end.

To facilitate archiving of the reports, coverage will include the following:

The last and first names of the students and their birth dates.
The academic year
The terms « UCV // Université de Rouen , « Licence professionnelle banque) »
The term « tutored project »
The company
A title

The final report shall include 20 to 25 pages.

The final report must be delivered at a specified date (see below, "Project schedule") to
both M NGUYEN Hoang at nguyenhoang@tmu.edu.vn and Vincent DORANGE (in a digital
file) at vincent.dorange@univ-rouen.fr
The final report must also be delivered at the same date in a digital file on the website :
http://caninos.compilatio.net/dossier/hqxy2

6 Evaluation
The project is evaluated by providing the report, and through an oral group presentation before
a jury composed of teachers responsible for tutored projects (including the teacher tutor) and /
or the manager of the company.

The oral presentation will last one hour:

 15 to 20 minutes: powerpoint presentation
 15 to 20 minutes: questions by the jury

During the oral presentation each group member must speak and introduce part of the project.
Any student who would not speak will be automatically assigned a grade of zero for the oral
assessment.

We will assess the consistency of the project, the use of business tools, the professionalism, the
oral delivery...

The report must be submitted no later than Saturday 1 February, 2020 to allow the jury to
read it (see below, “project schedule”).
