CONTINUOUS TENSES (Tr.

) SÜREKLİ ZAMAN ÇEKİMLERİ

İngilizcede basit zaman çekimlerinin yanı sıra sürekli zaman
çekimleri (continuous tenses) de vardır. Present Continuous
Tense (Sürekli Geniş Zaman), Past Continuous Tense (Sürekli
Geçmiş Zaman), Future Continuous Tense (Sürekli Gelecek
Zaman). Bu çekimlerle ifade edilen eylemler, bir rutini ya da
tamamlanan bir eylemi bildirmek yerine, eylemin çekimlendiği
zamanda sürmekte olduğunu bildirir.
Bu çekimleri kullanırken uygulanan kural: to be + V(ing)
Past Tense: To be (olmak) eylemi ikinci haline dönüşür. was /
were + V(ing), Present Tense: To be geniş zamana göre
çekimlenir. am / is / are + V(ing) Future Tense: will auxiliary
verb olduğu için to be yerine kullanılmaz. will be + V(ing)

 Negative Forms (Tr.) Olumsuz Yapılar
Olumsuzluk eki olan “not” yüklemlerin ardından gelir; past
(geçmiş) ve present (geniş) zaman çekimlerinde to be eylemi
yüklem görevi görürken future (gelecek) zaman çekiminde
yüklem olarak will kullanılır.
Bu kurala göre olumsuzluk eki;
Past Tense: was / were not + V(ing),
Present Tense: am / is / are + V(ing),
Future Tense: will not + be + V(ing) şeklinde kullanılır.
Not: Kısaltma olarak wasn’t, weren’t, isn’t,
aren’t, won’t kullanımları da yaygındır.

Süreklilik çekimlerinde soru yapısı yüklem görevinde olan
ifadelerin cümle başına getirilerek kurulur.
Bu yapıları kullanırken uygulanan kurallar;
