ABILITY
What does ability mean?
Ability means the skill we have to do something.
Example: We have the skill or ability to walk, run, play, sing
and so on.
ACTION WORDS/ VERBS
Action words or verbs: are words that describe an action or
movement.
Example: Hop
Jump
Touch
Run
Here are a few action word/verb examples illustrated:

fly walk

climb jump

sing run
drive play

swim ride

touch hop
These are a few sentences which use verbs (action words):

• Rabbits can hop and run fast.

• Birds can sing and fly.

• Crocodiles can swim.

• Monkeys can climb on trees and jump on the branches.

• Humans can ride bicycles.

• Mohammed can play football.

AUXILIARY VERB : CAN AND CAN’T
can (positive auxiliary): shows something that is possible.
Example: I can ride a bike.
She can play football.

can’t (negative auxiliary): shows something that is not possible.


Example: He can’t run to school.
We can’t cook food.
DIALOGUE:
A: Can you ride a bike?
B: Yes, I can ride a bike.
A: Good. Can you drive a car?
B: No, I can’t drive a car, can you?
A: Yes, I can drive a car.
B: Can you drive me home?
A: I’m sorry I can’t drive you today?
