1 Statement of the Problem
Point Sale of Day2Day Trading uses an existing manual system in everyday
transactions. This part tackles the problem that leads to the development of the Point
Sale of Day2Day Trading. Specific problems are:
Cashiers have to write down the customer’s order and all the necessary details
in a common printed receipt used by the store or shop every day.
Inaccurate and error prone records and reports which will affect the outcome
of the records.
Items go unnoticed due to theft.
Manual transaction can be time consuming for customer placing big orders.
Long queues can discourage customers from buying.
Customer can easily change their minds and may want to add or remove items
from their orders and the cashiers have to keep up with their orders.
Product prices are subject to change with or without prior notice.
1.2 Current state of technology
Apparently, the business establishment is currently using the traditional manual
system of sale service processing, which is writing down orders on a sheet of paper which
includes an everyday set of recording and as an old practice it is unreliable because its
time consuming and error prone which can affect the outcome of the records. Considering
that is a small line of business. Over time, the current manual system they're using is not
that reliable.
In order to develop a new system to help establishment to have a reliable and
hassle free way of recording the sales, the researcher proposed the Point of Sales and
Inventory System for Day2Day Trading for the establishment.
After the implementation of the system, the establishment can record the sales
every day, print daily reports and have a secure and easy to access data. So, based on the
above information, it would take a certain amount of time and effort for the system to be
developed and become useful resolution for the company’s current problem.
