Waddell (2015) With technology, one can expect increased efficiency and effectiveness on both
the part of teachers and students. Although technology is finally being integrated into education,
its use for teaching and learning still remains a challenge. Despite the fact that many schools
today are privileged to have ready access to technology, trained teachers, and a favorable
policy environment, the use of technology in the classroom is still low.

PARAPHRASE
The efficiency and effectiveness of teachers and students can increase with the help of
technology. However, even if it is already being used by privileged schools, well-trained
teachers, and a proper classroom environment, its proper use for teaching and learning is still a
challenge (Waddell, 2015).

Karre Sloan (2015) Schools must prepare students for future grades and ultimately, living
independently as working adults. The advances in technology that have happened in the
classroom over the last 15 years have created new journeys, challenges and ideas for the future
of education. When this happens in the classroom, the teacher determines the end goals for the
students, develops tasks that will teach the necessary skills to reach those goals and moves
forward with the end goals in mind.

PARAPHRASE
According to Sloan (2015), for 15 years of equipping education with technology, new journeys,
challenges, and ideas for education have been introduced. Students are being prepared to live
as independent working adults in the future. On the other hand, teachers identify the goals for
the students so that they too, can identify the methods that they will use in teaching the
necessary skills that could help the students achieve their goals.

Laws and Scepansky (2006) examined the impact of PowerPoint on the students’ classroom
experience. While they found no differences in grades as a result of the use of PowerPoint in
the classroom, they did find that students in PowerPoint enhanced classrooms responded
differently to the classroom experience. Specifically, students believed that the PowerPoint
classes were better organized and more interesting.

PARAPHRASE
The impact of the usage of PowerPoint on the students' classroom experience has been
examined by Laws and Scepansky. They found out that students became more organized and
interested in learning with its help. However, according to Laws and Scepansky (2006), there is
no difference between the grades of the students when they implemented PowerPoint in school
and when they did not.

According to Roblyer (2003), technology may enable the learner to be more actively involved in
his or her own learning. While technology may enhance the classroom and engage today’s
student more effectively, most do not believe it replaces the need for a structured, content-
driving learning process that is grounded in theory.

PARAPHRASE

Technology enhances the level of engagement of the students when it comes to classroom
activities because learners become more active in learning with its help. However, people still
believe that it did not replace the methodic and theoretical learning process which is more
focused on being driven by the content than being driven by the ways on how to understand the
concept (Roblyer, 2003).
