Software House announced new online software

registration for C•CURE 9000 software in June 2014
saving time, money, and frustration. Below is a quick
overview of how it all works.

How does it work?

 Receive your software license file by email within a few minutes. That means your installers
can activate a permanent license while at your customer’s site. Eliminate the need for two
visits!
 Eliminate manual entry of your contact information – it’s populated from your log-in profile.
 The system immediately validates the information, eliminating delays caused by data that
may be entered incorrectly.

iSTAR Ultra Rack Mount Models Released

iSTAR Ultra rack mount units are now in stock and ready to ship!
Launched last September in a traditional wall mount enclosure, the
iSTAR Ultra is now available in a modular rack mount configuration
where the GCM is a separate 2U unit, and each ACM is a separate
4U unit (a “U” is a measure of rack height; each U is approximately
1.75”. A 2U unit will therefore take up about 3.5” in the rack). With
this modular approach you have flexibility in mounting – the GCM
can be mounted at eye level, while the ACMs can be mounted in
the rear of the rack to keep wiring protected.

The iSTAR Ultra rack mount is the perfect fit for customers that are IT-centric, and prefer to mount
their equipment in the safe, conditioned environment of a server room. Also, the iSTAR Ultra rack
mount GCM is ideal for projects that have large amounts of wireless locks – each GCM can handle
up to 32 Aperio or Schlage wireless devices without needing an ACM. (Schlage support for iSTAR
Ultra was just added in C•CURE 9000 v2.40). As an added bonus, rack mount GCM is FIPS 140-2
listed which is important for strict requirements of IT and government customers. Both units require
12VDC power. You will need to source a 12V supply from a third party supplier.

Stone Lock Pro Facial Recognition Integration for Instant &
Accurate Confirmation of Identity

Software House announces the integration of the Stone Lock Pro

Biometric Facial Recognition reader from CoprometroUSA® with
C•CURE 9000 security and event management solution (v 2.20 and
higher). Stone Lock Pro is an extremely fast and accurate infrared
biometric facial recognition device, designed for access control
applications that require instant, easy, and reliable confirmation of
identity. The combined solution is the ideal application for critical security
situations where a PIN or password alone isn’t enough. Through the deep
integration with C•CURE 9000, users have only one personnel database
to manage, saving time and reducing problems with duplicate entries,
errors, and inefficiency.

Microsoft SQL Server “CAL” Licensing Offers Substantial Savings – Now Available!

A full copy of SQL Server 2012 is needed for larger C•CURE 9000 systems, Series P, and up. Our
OEM licensing agreement with Microsoft now allows us to offer SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition
using the Client Access License (CAL) licensing model, which is based on the number of clients that
attach either directly or indirectly to SQL Server.

The SQL 2012 OEM package we provide includes five CALs. A CAL is needed for every device
(client) that connects to our server. If your system includes more than five physical client
workstations or web clients, purchase additional single CALs. Our OEM SQL package is only
authorized for C•CURE 9000 or victor Unified, and is not to be used for third-party applications. We
have kept the current SQL part number based on core licensing active,
but in almost all cases the CAL licensing model will save cost.

Software House Covering Level-2 Support for Stratus

Previously, integrators would answer calls from their customers providing level-1 support. If it was
determined to be a possible everRun issue or if direct help from a Stratus representative was
needed for an issue, the integrators would then call Stratus directly. Software House will now provide
level-2 support for Stratus Solutions.
Please note the changes moving forward for all Stratus offerings:
 Software House will now take level-2 support calls, providing support services for our
integrators.

 Software House will call Stratus directly if further assistance is required.

 When an integrator calls Stratus directly, Stratus will direct them to put the call through
Software House.

Please note: If Software House Tech Support wants Stratus to work the problem directly with the
integrator or end-user, then Software House can loop them in.

Software House announces the integration of IdentyTech™ biometric

palm vein readers with the C•CURE 9000 security and event
management solution. Users can now add the IDTJade™ and
IDTSapphire™ biometric palm vein readers as part of a networked
C•CURE 9000 solution. Using the PalmSecure palm vein biometric
recognition and authentication technology, a person is identified from
the patterns of the blood vessels found within the Palm of the hand
using near-infrared light to detect distinctive vein vessel patterns. This
provides the highest reliability and accuracy of identification as it is
almost impossible to forge the palm vein data.

FIPS 140-2 Tamper-Evident Labels Available for iSTAR Ultra, iSTAR Edge

As announced in the January 2015 Software House

Edge achieved certification for FIPS 140-2, the U.S.

government’s highest standard for cryptographic modules. With the certification of iSTAR Edge and
iSTAR Ultra, Software House becomes the first company to offer a full lineup of FIPS 140-2
approved controllers covering a wide range of access control scenarios.

FIPS 140-2 covers all aspects of the cryptographic module, including symmetric encryption, key
management, hashing algorithms, and random number generation. It also covers tamper-resistance.
As part of a FIPS 140-2 installation, it is required to provide tamper-evident labels on the controller’s
enclosure once the unit is set up and commissioned. These labels are serialized, and the site’s
cryptographic officer must log the serial numbers of each of the applied labels.

iSTAR Pro PCMCIA Card Availability

The iSTAR Pro features two PCMCIA slots for use by an optional secondary network port, or by a
dial-up modem. While we have a sufficient supply of PCMCIA modems in stock, we have recently
run into shortages of the 16-bit PCMCIA network adaptor. In fact, we have now discontinued our
model number STAR-PCC-NIC, and have replaced it with a refurbished part, STAR-PCC-NIC-R, for
a higher cost which reflects the age and scarcity of the product. The refurbished units feature a 90
day warranty, and are available now.

Illustra Pro LT Bullet

The Illustra Pro LT 2MP Bullet camera is expected to launch for worldwide availability in April. The
new bullet will have the premium features required for the Illustra Pro product line including: IR
illuminator effective to 35m, TDN, WDR and full 1080p@30fps. The camera is classified as an LT
model because it does not have onboard heating with the low temperature specification insufficient
for all markets (-20°C to 50°C (-4°F to 122°F)).

Launching in April is Illustra Edge, a solution that combines the power and quality of Illustra with the
ease and simplicity of Exacq. The solution includes: an Illustra Pro IP camera, exacqVision VMS
software and license installed directly on the camera, and an onboard SD card. No server hardware
