CADAVER

Moral/Intellectual

This is a story by Alberto S. Florentino is an eye opener to the readers of the story.
This story shows to us the poverty and hardships the each character’s has
experienced especially torio as he and his friend carding stole some things from
the dead people in the cemetery. The main point of the story depicts not just in
the readers minds but also in real life as situations where we sometimes felt mad
and felt like the world is against us and felt happy in seeing the sufferings. The
word deprived also came into my mind reading one of the passages of this story
this story as torio said ”while I as outside, soaked to the bone shivering in the cold
waiting to go home in a dark dark place and said his dead and I am alive! I have
more rights of the things wasted on him. People sometimes think even me that
when things don’t go their way we always feel that we have been deprived of the
privilege of the luxury and things that we want. This story made me realize that
poverty is the cause of what we see in the news or even on the radio that
people’s wallets and even jewelries are lost and being taken from them without
even realizing this is the what drove some people to steal because they have been
deprived of the things that life has to over while other felt cozy and warm in their
respective houses some people live in the slums with leaked roofs. We must
never feel that we are even being deprived or mad of the hardships as GOD has a
sole purpose for us and there is a time when God will give us what we desire.
Structuralism
The story cadaver by Alberto S. Florentino made me realize the connections of the
story of carding and marina and tonoi. This started when tonio’s friend marina
and carding is concerned about the health of their friend tonoi which he has a
high fever because of the infection in his foot. Then the conversation came up
where the hidden agenda of their work was revealed as the two characters Tonio
and carding stole from the dead. The partners in crime Tonio and carding remind
me of a saying that goes like “the same feathers flock together “as it means they
are going through the same difficulties and have the same feelings and
resentment towards the dead therefore they have a pattern going on. carding
was deeply influenced by tonoi to steal from the dead because of the poverty and
the feeling of being deprived as they are going through the same situation or
experiences. These things are the sign that there is a pattern in the story that
converse between the two friends carding and tonoi.
