Narrator: Angelica didn't always do things right, sometimes she did things the wrong way
but Angelica liked herself. She could count to 20, she could run faster than her friend
Rodie, she could spell her name. Angelica knew she was not perfect, she was okay.

One day, Angelica fell off the slide, it didn't hurt her much but other kids laugh at her.
She didn't feel bad then she thought about it.

Angelica: I am not perfect. But I like being me. I can count to 20, I can run faster than
my friend Rodie, I can spell my name, my family loves me so much. It was okay that the
other kids laughed.

Angelica wondered if she looked silly falling off the slide, she thought about what she
looked like. She started to laugh too. Later, Angelica spilled her milk. One of the girls in
her class called her clumsy. another girl said she was stubborn. Angelica knew she was
clumsy sometimes but she is not stubborn. She could count to 20, she could run faster
than her friend Rodie, she could spell her name and her family loves her so much. She
just smiled and cleaned up her milk, her mother would give him another one. It was
okay.

Shierey: Why are you smiling when the other kids are not nice to you? They are mean.

Angelica shrugged.

Angelica: But I am not mean. I like myself. Sometimes I do silly things and I am only
clumsy once in a while. I could do lots of good things, I can count to 20, I can run faster
than my friend Rodie, I can spell my name and most importantly my family loves me
very much. When other kids want to make me feel bad, I just remember all the things I
can do and that my family accepts me for who I am. I did not worry about what they say,
I like me. No matter what.

Shierey: That's a good idea. (clapping her hands) I will do that too.
Angelica: (nodded) You have to think of things you can do and the things that you have.
My parents said it’s okay to make mistake because we all are not perfect; they will still
love us despite our imperfections.

Shierey: I can paint a picture of a cat. I can count to 12, I can smell bigger than anybody
I know. I like myself. Even if I’m not perfect.

After lunch, Angelica and Shierey went to the arts room together. Shierey showed
Angelica how to paint a cat. Angelica taught Shierey how to count to 20. They knew they
were not perfect and that was okay. They were happy. 😊
