Daily Tasks  Spellbound: Week 30 Learn spellings and complete all exercises

 Tables: Each day revise your tables from 1-12
Monday English:
 Starlight: Unit 15B, Read “Watch This!” Pg 176 - 178“
 Look up the meaning of new words: “suffering, haunting, revenge,
modern”
 Make sentences with these new words
 Complete questions A pg 173 (You can answer these orally)

Maths:
 Revise multiplication and division tables 1-12 Learn these off by
heart it will really help you. Plays cards to practise – Turn two
cards over and multiply or if playing with someone else, both turn
over one card each first people to get the multiple gets a point!

 Length- Watch my Video on the blog for a quick revision.


 Busy at Maths – Pg 119 Use your ruler to measure the following
items – maths book, one side of your table, window, your own
height (Measure in cm – centimetre, some might be 1m long!)
 In your busy at maths book complete Q1-3

 Irish Spelling: See blog (an pháirc, eitleog (kite), an téad- (rope)
Make 3 sentences with some of the spellings and the new vocabulary
learned today. Eg- Chuaigh mé go dtí an pháirc. Bhí sé gaofar. D’eitil an
eitleog go hard sa spéir. (Keep them simple)

History: The Normans (You can do this over a couple of days)


Read the pages on the Normans. Watch the videos on the blog
Do a project on the Normans. You can use any format you want to display
your work. Write it in your copy, use the colour pages in your pack, use
the back of a cereal box whatever is easy and convenient for you.
You could design your own Norman castle in 2d or 3d.
Things to include: type of clothes they wore, food they ate, games and
pastimes.
Role Play – Pretend to be a Norman

persuade the reader of you view point. Make a word web with
more powerful words for the following words

 Revise multiplication and division tables 1-12
 Writing cm to M and Cm. (watch video on blog to remind you)
 Complete Q 1 (a-f) and Q2 (a-f) pg 120
 Addition and Subtraction of M and Cm. Q1 Q3 pg 121

 Try to complete the ceisteanna A pg 131

Try to write another three sentences today using some spelling
words and new vocabulary and Verbs. ( eg Go tobann, rug an madra
an téad agus rith sé timpeall an pháirc.

History/Art: Make a model or Drawing of a Norman Castle. You can do


this over a couple of days.

 Answer questions C pg 180 (Do this orally, you don’t need to write
it out)

 Revise multiplication and division tables up to 12
 Perimeter: Perimeter is the distance around the outside of a
shape. This shape could be a field, room, garden
 Watch my maths video on the blog. See can you do some of the
challenges.

Gaeilge:
 Revise Teama “An Aimsir”, Listen to Comhrá (See recording on
blog) (Weather in Ireland)
 Look at D. pg 132, can you answer these questions. Do this orally.
 Cén séasúr is fearr leat? Agus cén fáth?
Phrases to learn
Is breá liom a bheith …….. (I like to be…… Look at pg 133 for the ideas.
Get someone to ask you.

Maths:

video on the blog on area.
 Why is it important to know the area of a space? Complete Q1-4
 Have you discovered any short way to find the area of a regular
shape

Gaeilge:
Verbs: See page 138
Root verb Ceannaigh – buy Bailigh- collect Dúisigh – woke ullmhaigh -prepare
Past tense: Cheannaigh Bhailigh Dhúisigh D’ullmhaigh
Make up a sentence with each of the verbs in the past tense

 Irish Spelling: timpeall, chuaigh, ní dheachaigh

P.E. Follow Joe Wicks P.E. lessons for every morning at 9am on his
YouTube channel or go for a walk with your family. Keep an eye out for
the hawthorn trees along on the way!

Friday English:
 Spelling Test (Get someone to ask you the spellings, ensure all
spellbound activities are complete for the week.
 Movie review- Similar to books you can review a movie. Look at
part G pg 181 to help you remember what to include in the movie
Review. (On pg 181 they review a book, but you can review a
movie too using the same criteria)

Maths:
 Spend a few minutes getting someone at home to ask you tables.
1-12
 Area- Area measures the space inside a shape.
 Look at page 164 of your Busy at Maths. Back garden- Find the
area. Can you complete Q1-4

 Spelling page: Ask someone at home to ask you the spellings.

Gaeilge/Drama: Perform your own nuacht and weather report as Gaeilge.


It can be a silly piece of nuacht. Use the verbs, vocabulary and phrases
you learned during the week, or even the sentences.
(Keep it simple, plan out what you are going to say, use some of the RTE
background music. I will upload this on the blog for you.

Eg: Sa pháirc, thit an buachaill isteach sa loch. Bhí sé ag eitilt eitleoige


agus rug an madra an téad agus rith sé timpeall an lochán. Thit an
buachaill. Tháinig an bhriogáid dóiteáin.
