Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated Mobile Virology Research and Diagnostics Laboratory
(MVRDL) named “Mobile BSL-3 VRDL Lab” recently. The lab was developed by DRDO (Defence Research
and Development Organisation) in association with ESIC (Employees’ State Insurance Corporation),
Hyderabad and Private industry. This mobile lab has testing capacity of 1000 to 2000 samples daily.
BRO builds Rs 17.89 cr, 484-meter permanent bridge connecting Punjab’s Kasowal enclave with
rest of the country
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has constructed and opened a new 484-meter permanent bridge
by replacing the pontoon bridge of limited load capacity on the “Ravi river” that connects Kasowal enclave
in Punjab with the rest of the country. The newly-constructed bridge was built by 141 Drain Maintenance
Coy of 49 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) of ‘Project Chetak’ with an outlay of Rs 17.89 crore.
PM Modi launches e-Gram Swaraj portal & Swamitva Scheme on Panchayati raj day
On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day on 24th of April 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has
launched the Swamitva Scheme and integrated e-Gram swaraj Portal & Mobile app for accelerating the
pace of development in India’s villages.

Uttar Pradesh becomes the 1st state with a software based in-house facility of virtual courts
Uttar Pradesh has become the 1st state in the country with a software-based in-house facility of virtual
courts, where a requisite infrastructure for the same was there in Allahabad High Court and all district
courts of Uttar Pradesh to hear cases through video conferencing as there is lockdown due to COVID-19
pandemic outbreak.
Government freezed DA & DR for 1.1 crore employees & pensioners: COVID-19
The Department of Expenditure, under the finance ministry has stated that the central government has
frozen the an inflation-linked allowances, Dearness Allowance (DA) & Dearness Relief (DR) to its 1.1
crore employees & pensioners respectively with due from January 1, 2020 to combat the COVID-19
pandemic outbreak. It is estimated that the central government will be able to save Rs 37, 530 crores in
the current financial year & 2021-22. The states will likely implement the central government order on
DA and DR & they will save Rs 82, 566 crores, which totally save Rs 1.20 lakh crore.

Govt to suspend 3 sections of IBC, 2016 upto 1yr to avoid insolvency proceedings amid COVID-
19
The government has decided to amend the IBC (Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code), 2016 by suspending
the provisions that results in insolvency proceedings against defaulters, for a period upto one year. This
will act as a relief measure for corporate borrowers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic also it paves the
way for banks to restructure loans. In this regard, an ordinance would be promulgated to suspend three
sections of IBC viz. Section 7, 9 and 10 for six months, if the current situation continues beyond April 30,
2020, and the suspension time can be extended up to one year based on the economic situation.
Pralhad Joshi sets 710 MT coal production target for Coal India Limited in FY 20-21
Pralhad Joshi the Union Minister of Coal and Mines, has set the target for Coal India Limited (CIL) to
produce 710 million tonnes (MT) of coal for FY 2020-2021. The decision has been taken on the lines of
achieving 1 billion tonne (BT) coal production by year 2023-24. The Over Burden (OB) removal target
for FY 20-21 was set at 1580 million cubic meters.

COVID-19: Home ministry constitutes 5 new IMCT’s to assess situation & augment State efforts
to fight against COVID-19
Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has constituted 5 new Inter-Ministerial Central Teams (IMCTs – in
addition to 6 which was constituted prior) to review the grave situation arising out COVID-19, taking the
total of such teams to 11. Of the 5 teams, two are for Gujarat (Ahmedabad and Surat) and one each for
Telangana (Hyderabad), Tamil Nadu (Chennai) and Maharashtra (Thane). The team has been formed
under Section 35(1), 35(2)(a), 35(2)(e) and 35(2)(i) of the Disaster Management Act 2005.
Australia cancels premier multilateral air combat training exercise Pitch Black 2020: COVID-19
The premier multilateral air combat training Exercise Pitch Black 2020 which was scheduled from July
27 to August 14 is cancelled by Australia due impacts of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. The next
edition is scheduled in 2022. Pitch Black is a biennial 3-week multinational large force employment
exercise conducted primarily from RAAF Base Darwin and RAAF Base Tindal. In 2018, India participated
the exercise for the first time.
Labour Ministry declared banking industry as public utility service under ID Act 1947 till
October 21, 2020
The Ministry of Labour and Employment has declared banking industry as a public utility service (PUS)
for six months from April 21, 2020 till October 21, 2020 under the provisions of the Industrial Disputes
Act, 1947. It means the employees and officers of the banking sector are barred to do any strikes in the
given period. The notification has been issued by the Department of Financial Services under Ministry of
Finance to RBI stating about the order implemented by the Labour and Employment Ministry.

KGMU becomes the 1st govt hospital in India to successfully launch CPT Treatment: COVID-19
The Lucknow (UP) based King George Medical University (KGMU) has became the 1st government
hospital in India to successfully launch the Convalescent Plasma Therapy (CPT) treatment for the COVID-
19 patients. The 1st dose of CPT was administered to a 58-year old patient. The Drug Controller General
of India (DCGI) has approved the clinical trial proposal for CPT submitted by ICMR & stated that plasma
donors can be asked to donate repeatedly but not more than 1000 ml of plasma can be collected from one
donor in a month. Few other states in the country also started the therapy.
Prakash Javadekar participates in 1st virtual 11th session of Petersberg Climate Dialogue 2020
Prakash Javadekar, the Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, participates 11th
session of Petersberg Climate Dialogue 2020 (1st time virtually) along with 30 other countries
representatives. The Dialogue has been hosted by Germany since 2010 to provide a forum for informal
high-level political discussions, focusing on climate negotiations and climate action. The event was co-
chaired by Germany and the United Kingdom (UK), the incoming Presidency of the 26th Conference of
Parties (COP 26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

EAM Jaishankar participated in BRICS FMs’ virtual meet on coronavirus; $15Bn loan support by
BRICS
The External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, has attended the BRICS Foreign Ministers
meeting chaired by Russia on covid-19 which was held through video conferencing, which was opened
by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. It should be noted that Russia is the Chair of BRICS for 2020.
During the meet BRICS countries have agreed to set up a $15 billion loan instrument for the economic
rebuilding of member-states impacted by COVID-19 crisis. The fund will be allocated through the New
Development Bank (NDB). NDB founded by BRICS already fast-tracked financial assistance of about $5
billion to BRICS countries.
COVID-19: India facilitates $ 150 million foreign currency swap facility to Maldives
India has extended $ 150 million foreign currency swap support to Maldives to help reduce the impact of
the COVID 19. This facility has been extended under the $ 400 million currency swap agreement signed
between the two countries in July 2019. The capital and Currency of Maldives are Male and Rufiyaa
respectively.

IIT Kharagpur ranked 57th, University of Auckland topped in THE’s 2nd edition of Impact
Rankings 2020
According to Times Higher Education (THE)’s 2nd edition of Impact rankings 2020, The Indian Institute
of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has secured 57th rank with a score of 87.9 among global universities. The
list is topped by the University of Auckland, New Zealand with a score of 98.5. The rankings are the only
global performance tables that assess universities against the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs).

World Bank ties-up with AIMA to organize virtual workshop on “Contract Management during
Emergency situations”
World Bank (WB) has joined hands with AIMA (All India Management Association), one of the most
renowned business schools in India, to organize a virtual workshop called “The Contract Management
during Emergency situations” with the aim to create awareness about the likely impact of the COVID -19
pandemic on the implementation of the bank-funded projects.
Global military expenditure sees largest annual increase in a decade in 2019, US tops, India in
3rd position: SIPRI
As per the new report by the Swiss based - Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the
total global military expenditure rose to USD 1,917 billion in 2019, which represents an annual growth
of 3.6% compared to. For the 1st time two Asian countries- China (2nd), India (3rd) have featured among
the top military spenders following United States (1st). The global military spending in 2019 represents
2.2% of the global gross domestic product (GDP) which equates to about USD 249 per person.

UNCTAD predicted $3.4 trillion debt for developing countries in 2020-2021; Global Debt Deal
required
As per the Geneva based United Nations Conference on Trade and Development’s (UNCTAD) report titled
“From the Great Lockdown to the Great Meltdown: Developing Country Debt in the Time of Covid-19″,
the developing countries’ repayments on their public external debt will increase between $2.6 trillion
and $3.4 trillion in 2020 and 2021 amid COVID-19 pandemic. For high-income developing countries it

will rise between $2 trillion and $2.3 trillion while for middle and low-income countries it will mount
between $666 billion and $1.06 trillion.

India’s holding of US govt securities hits high record of USD 177.5 bn in Feb: US Treasury Dept
As per the United States Treasury Department’s latest data the India’s holding of US government
securities has gone up by over USD 13 billion (bn) in a month to a record high of USD 177.5 bn at the end
of February. Japan is the country which has US govt securities worth over USD 1.268 trillion(tn) at
February end, the most by any foreign country, followed by China with holdings of USD 1.092 tn & United
Kingdom at USD 403.2 bn & India ranks 13th position.
IOB launches Working Capital Demand Loan for agriculture sector: COVID-19
Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) headquartered at chenai, TN has launched Working Capital demand Loan for
agriculture sector (WCDL-Agri), a special credit facility for the agriculture sector & allied activities as a
relief measure to fight COVID-19 pandemic. It has also launched the “COVID 19 Line of Support Scheme”
for all MSME customers.
World Bank approved Rs 585 cr for Himachal Pradesh State Roads Transformation Project
(HPSRTP)
The Himachal Pradesh State Roads Transformation Project (HPSRTP) will receive a funding of US$82
million (Rs 585 crore) from World Bank (WB) for the upgradation of major roads and modernization of
the Public Works Department (PWD) in Himachal Pradesh (HP).

Transcorp becomes the 1st non-bank company to receive RBI nod to enter into co-branding
arrangements
The Leading forex and payment solutions provider Transcorp International Limited (TIL), has become
the 1st non-bank company to receive Reserve Bank of India (RBI) nod to enter into co-branding
arrangements for prepaid Instruments to be used in over 35 lakh stores and online gateways due to the
current outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. It is the 1st non-bank player in India to issue National Common
Mobility Cards (NCMC/One Nation One Card) by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)
certification to be used in Transit Systems and Smart Cities.
RBI opened Rs 50,000 cr Special Liquidity Facility for MFs from Apr 27-May 11,2020
To ease the liquidity pressures on mutual funds, impacted by Covid-19 crisis, Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
has initiated a special liquidity facility of Rs 50,000 crore namely “Special Liquidity Facility-Mutual Funds
(SLF-MF)”under which RBI will conduct repo operations of 90 days tenor at the fixed repo rate. The
timeline of the scheme is from April 27, 2020 to May 11, 2020 or up to utilization of the allocated amount,
whichever is earlier. Under this facility, the RBI will provide funds to banks at lower rates.
COVID-19: Indian Overseas Bank introduces special borrowing programme for self-help groups
Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has launched a special borrowing programme for Self Help Groups (SHGs) to
help them in difficult situations arising out of COVID-19. Under this scheme, a member of SHG will be
given a maximum loan of Rs 5,000 & the limit for the group has been fixed at Rs 1 lakh. This loan will be
sanctioned with an interest rate of 9.4 % for 1 year. The loan will have to be repaid in 30 Equated Monthly
Instalments (EMIs).
Asian Development Bank approves 1.5 billion USD to India to Combat COVID-19
The Asian Development Bank (ADB – headquarters at Mandaluyong, Manila, Philippines) approved the
loan of 1.5 Billion USD (Rs.11,400 crore) to India to fund the actions to take against the novel coronavirus
pandemic to support disease containment and prevention and social protection for the poor and
working-class population who are in vulnerable economic condition.
ADB approves $ 346 mn loan for Maharashtra to electrify rural agriculture customers
Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan worth of $346 million (around Rs 2,616 crore) for
the government of Maharashtra to provide reliable power connection in rural areas of the state, where
the labour force is mostly engaged in agriculture and related activities. In addition to the above said
amount, the ADB will also provide $1 million as technical assistance.
Fitch ratings reduces India’s annual GDP growth estimates for FY21 to 0.8% from 2%
American credit rating agency Fitch ratings Inc. in its ‘Global Economic Outlook (GEO)’, has lowered
India’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) growth forecast to 0.8% for Fiscal year 2020-21, a revision from
the 2% that was projected just three weeks ago. The agency also expects the growth rate in FY 22 at 6.7%.

23% decline projected in Migrants Remittances to India in 2020 due to COVID-19: World Bank
Report
As per World Bank’s report titled, “COVID-19 Crisis: Through a Migration Lens”, remittances to India are
likely to drop by 23% to USD 64 billion in 2020 from USD 83 billion in 2019 due to COVID-19 impact. In
2019, the remittances were increased by 5.5%. Importantly, India is the world’s biggest recipient of
remittances, which bolster the country’s foreign exchange reserves and help fund its current account
deficit (CAD).

IT firm Tech Mahindra joins hands with IBM to set up innovation centres
Indian IT firm Tech Mahindra Limited has entered into the partnership with US based IBM (International
Business Machines Corporation) to establish innovation centres to boost digital transformation &
encourage adoption of more hybrid cloud-based technologies among its global customers. Both the firms
have decided to open a 1st such centre in Bengaluru, Karnataka later in 2020.
CARE Ratings projected 1.1%-1.2% GDP growth in FY21; declined for FY20 to 4.7% from 5%
CARE Ratings has projected the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of India for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-2021
between 1.1%-1.2% amid nationwide lockdown resulting in disruptions and halting of activities. Gross
Value Added (GVA) has been estimated to grow at 1.4% for FY21. Overall growth is expected to be driven
only by the government expenditure. CARE has assessed 8 sectors for GDP projection of FY21 out of
which 3 sectors are anticipating a decline viz. mining and quarrying, manufacturing and construction.
Ind-Ra slashes India’s GDP growth forecast for FY21 to 1.9% from 3.6%
Fitch group’s Indian subsidiary, India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra), has revised India’s gross domestic
product (GDP) growth forecasts for the fiscal year 2020-21 (FY 21) to 1.9 % from 3.6% estimated earlier
due to the impact of Covid-19. The ratings, which is lowest in the last 29 years, based on the assumption
that the partial lockdown will continue till mid-May 2020. However, if the lockdown continues even after
mid-May, the country will register a negative growth of 2.1% lowest in the last 41 years, and only the
sixth instance of contraction since fiscal year 1957-58.

10 Hydrogen Fuel Cell based electric cars to operate them in Delhi and Leh. For this initiative, consent
has also been taken from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Chemicals, Petrochemicals contributed 14.35% of total exports; becomes top exporting sector
for 1st time
The chemical & petrochemical industry became the Indian top exporting sector for FY 2019-20 as the
export of chemicals increased by 7.43% to Rs 2.68 lakh crore during the April-January period of FY 2019-
2020 in comparison to the corresponding period of 2018-19. This industry contributed 14.35% of the
total exports.
APEC region to post 2.7% economic contraction in 2020 due to Covid-19: Report
According to the report ‘APEC in the Epicentre of COVID-19’ released by the Asia-Pacific Economic
Cooperation (APEC), the region’s growth is expected to contract by 2.7% in 2020 due to the impact of the
COVID-19. The contraction, which is the most significant fall since 2009 global recession, compares with
a 3.6 % growth in 2019. Due to the economic fallout, the output loss has been estimated at $ 2.1 trillion.
The 2020 APEC economic forum and leaders’ summit host Malaysia has delayed meetings. It will likely to
held in November 2020.
Moody declined India’s growth estimate to 0.2% for CY 2020 from 2.5%
Moody’s Investors Service in its report titled “Global Macro Outlook 2020-21 (April 2020 update)” has
decreased India’s growth forecast for the calendar year (CY) 2020 to 0.2%, from 2.5% projected in March
2020, due to the nationwide lockdown started from March 25, 2020. Moody also forecasted India’s
growth for 2021 at 6.2%.

CRISIL pegs India’s FY21 economic growth rate at 1.8% from 3.5%
The S&P’s Indian subsidiary, CRISIL(Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited), has lowered its
projections for the Financial progress price of India to 1.8% from 3.5%, its earlier prediction for the year
2020-21 The parent company of CRISIL, Standard & Poor’s, predicts the world economy to contract 2.4%
against its earlier estimated 0.4% growth.

market transaction. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) said that more than 1.71 crore shares were
bought at an average of Rs.34.43 apiece.
Axis Bank to buy 29% stake in Max Life Insurance for Rs 1,600 crore
Axis Bank Ltd would acquire an additional 29% stake in Max Life Insurance Company from Max Financial
Services Limited (MFS). The deal will increase Axis Bank ‘s stake in Max Life to 30%. However, the bank
didn’t reveal the amount it is paying for the stake. But the bigger deal can be estimated at Rs 1,600 crore
(about $209.43 million) which will be paid in two stages.

Iran launches its 1st military satellite, “Noor” into orbit by launch vehicle ‘Qased’
Iran launched its 1st military satellite into orbit named “Noor” (means ‘light’). The satellite has
successfully reached an orbit of 425 kilometers above the Earth’s surface. It was launched by launch
vehicle named Qased (means ‘messenger’) from a space center in Dasht-e Kavir, Iran’s largest desert.
Unified Geologic Map of the Moon: 1st ever digital geological map of moon released by US
Geological Survey
The scientists from USGS (United States Geological Survey) Astrogeology Science Center, in collaboration
with US space agency, NASA and the Lunar Planetary Institute have virtually released the first ever digital,
unified, global, geological map of the moon namely “Unified Geologic Map of the Moon”. It should be noted
that the moon is the closest cosmic body to Earth. The 1:5,000,000 scale map is color-coded to help you
quickly identify geological features, including multiple crater types, plains and other features.
Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute developed magnetic nanoparticle-based RNA extraction kit for PCR
and LAMP tests for COVID-19
Kerala Based Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) has developed
Ribonucleic acid (RNA) extraction kit namely “Chitra Magna” for segregating RNA from swabs samples
for COVID-19 tests that will enhance the chances of identifying positive cases of the contagion. The
Institute has filed for a patent for this technology. It is developed by Dr Anoop Thekkuveettil and his team,
which has earlier, came up with Chitra GeneLAMP-N. The technology of Chitra Magna has been
transferred to the Agappe Diagnostics Ltd Ernakulam.
IIT-Delhi develops first low-cost probe free detection assay approved by ICMR
The Researchers at Kusuma School of Biological Sciences (KSBS) of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)
Delhi, develops the first probe free real time PCR diagnostic assay for detecting the COVID-19 to help
reduce the cost of testing has got approval from the Indian Medical Council of Medical Researches (IMCR).
Chinese Space Day on Apr 24,2020: Mars mission named as Tianwen-1 & its logo launched
China National Space Administration (CNSA) has named its first Mars exploration mission as “Tainwen-
1” and also released its logo “Lanxingjiutian” during the online celebration of “Space Day” which marks
the 50th anniversary of the launch of the country’s first satellite Dong Fang Hong-1 in 1970.

intermediates
Indian Institute of Chemical Technology(IICT), a laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial
Research(CSIR) has collaborated with LAXAI Life Sciences Private Limited, an integrated pharmaceutical
company, to develop and manufacture Active pharmaceutical ingredients(APIs) and drug intermediates,
which will help to reduce dependency of the Indian pharmaceutical sector on Chinese imports of these
ingredients.

National Innovation Foundation (NIF) boosts new varieties of Anthurium, by VasiniBai, lady

Near-Earth asteroid 1998 OR2 to pass within 3.9m miles of Earth: NASA
According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), asteroid 1998 OR2 a large near-
Earth asteroid, measuring about 1.5-mile-wide (2-kilometer-wide) will pass by earth within 3.9 million
miles (6.3 million kilometers), which is about 16 times farther away than the moon. Near-Earth small
asteroid 2020 HS7, estimated to be 13 to 24 feet (4 to 8 meters) in size, safely passed Earth on April 28.
IIT-Roorkee professor develops software to detect COVID-19 within 5 seconds using X-ray scan
Kamal Jain, professor IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand, has developed a software which can detect COVID-19
within 5 seconds using x-ray scan of the suspected patient. The software will not only reduce testing costs
but will also reduce the risk of exposure to healthcare professionals.

World Games Birmingham unveils new logo, title for 2022 edition
The 11th edition of World Games which is to be held in Birmingham, Alabama, US (United States), unveiled
an updated logo and title after being delayed a year because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The World
Games 2021 Birmingham has been renamed to World Games 2022 Birmingham. The World Games will
be held every 4 years, one year after the Summer Olympic Games.

bowlers list. Sana Mir, right-handed batter made her debut in One Day International (ODI) against Sri
Lanka in Karachi in December 2005. In 120 ODIs she took 151 wickets.
Middle distance runner Jhuma Khatun handed 4-year ban for failing dope test
Indian middle-distance runner Jhuma Khatun was banned for four years for using banned substances
(Steroids) by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) of the World governing body for the doping case from
2018 in which the National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) failed to detect and later tested positive for
dehydrochloromethyl testosterone in Montreal Laboratory in Canada.

Pakistan batsman, Umar Akmal was banned for three-years by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)
Disciplinary Committee for the violation of ICC Anti-corruption code 2.4.4 failing to disclose the details
of approaches to engage in corrupt conduct and 2.4.5 failing to disclose any incident that comes to the
knowledge of any evidence that another participant received any approaches to engage in corrupt
conduct.
India lost hosting rights of 2021 Men’s World Boxing Championships to Serbia: AIBA
International Boxing Association (AIBA) terminated an agreement with India, signed in 2017, which
resulted in losing of hosting rights of 2021 men’s world boxing championship by the latter to Serbia. The
reason behind termination is the inability of Boxing Federation of India (BFI) to pay the host fees of USD
4 million due on December 2, 2019. Now, India would have to pay a cancellation penalty of USD 500.

Manipur Government commemorate Khongjom Day at War Memorial Complex on 23rd April,
2020
Government of Manipur commemorated the people who sacrificed their lives in the Anglo-Manipuri War
(at 1891 between british and Manipur kingdom) as Khongjom Day on April 23 every year at the
Khongjom War Memorial Complex which is a historical site that holds the tallest statute of Sword in the
world constructed in remembrance of the people who fought in the war.
Jagan Mohan Reddy re-launches zero interest loan scheme for Women SHGs
Andhra Pradesh (AP) Chief Minister (CM) Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, re-launched zero interest loan scheme
for Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by releasing a sum of Rs 1,400 crores to 8.78 lakh SHGs (to benefit
about 91 lakh members) for the welfare of women. Each SHG will receive a sum ranging from Rs 20,000
to Rs 40,000 towards the interest component on their loans. Currently SHG are securing loans from banks
at an interest rate of 7 to 13%. The zero-interest scheme was first launched by Former Chief Minister N
Kiran Kumar Reddy in the united Andhra Pradesh in 2011.
Gujarat govt launches unique initiative ‘Umbare Aanganwadi’ to help children during lockdown
The Women and Child Development Ministry (WCD) of Gujarat State Government has launched a unique
initiative called ‘Umbare Aanganwadi (means doorstep Aanganwadi) under ICDS (Integrated Child
Development Services) programme to reach out to children during the lockdown.

AP launched ‘Covid Pharma’, a mobile application to trace people buying medicines for fever,
cold
The Medical and Health Department of Andhra Pradesh (AP) has launched ‘Covid Pharma’, a mobile
application(app) to keep a track of people buying medicines over-the-counter (OTC) for cough, cold and
fever from medical stores across the state. The department also launched ‘COVID-19 AP’ mobile
application on the android platform through which one can request the authorities for COVID test.
Andhra govt launches fee reimbursement scheme for students namely Jagananna Vidya Deevena
Andhra Pradesh (AP) Chief Minister (CM) Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy launched a scheme Jagananna Vidya
Deevena with an outlay of Rs 4,000 crore to provide full fees reimbursement to about 14 lakh college
students, including those in professional courses. Apart from the above scheme, another scheme,
Jagananna Vasathi Deevana, was also launched which will take care of hostel and mess charges, students
who are pursuing their higher education.
Madhya pradesh CM Shivraj singh unveils ‘Jeevan Amrit Yojana’ to help people fight against
COVID-19
Madhya Pradesh (MP) Chief Minister (CM) Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched ‘Jeevan Amrit Yojana’
scheme, under which an ayurvedic product called ‘Trikut Churna (means three peppers)’ will be provided
to the people with the aim to boost their immune system to fight against the disease. Under this yojana,
the state government will freely distribute an ayurvedic product called ‘Trikut Churna (means three
peppers)’, prepared by the AYUSH. A target has been set to distribute this packet of 50 grams to 1 crore
families of the state.
