Tinapay ni Juan Kontra Gutom

I. RATIONALE
Republic Act No. 10742 or the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015 was approved on
January 15, 2016 establishing reforms in the Sangguniang Kabataan and creating enabling
mechanism for meaningful youth participation in nation building.

Article 2 Section 13 of the Philippine Constitution provides “the state recognizes the vital
role of the youth in nation-building and shall promote and protect their physical, moral,
spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being” it shall calculate in the youth patriotism and
nationalism, and encourage their involvement in public and civic affairs.

Section 8, Paragraph (d) of the Republic Act No. 10742 mandates that “The Sangguniang
Kabataan shall initiate and implement, in coordination with any national government
agency and/or any private or nongovernment institution, programs and projects designed
to promote the general welfare, development and empowerment of the youth.

Thus, this design.

II. OBJECTIVE

Generally, the “Tinapay ni Juan Kontra Gutom” aims to give a bucket of bread to the most
in need youth and affected family in Barangay San Juan due to COVID – 19 to fight hunger
brought by this crisis.

III. EXPECTED OUTPUT

At the end of the project, it is expected that this program entitled “Tinapay ni Juan Kontra
Gutom” to reach out the youth of Barangay San Juan especially to those who are most in
need to receive a bucket a bread. It is also expected that this program will meet its goal to
fight hunger and serves as a hope to overcome this crisis.

IV. DATE AND VENUE OF IMPLEMENTATION

The Target distribution of relief goods specifically a bucket of bread will be on May 10,
2020. The Sangguniang Kabataan in coordination and with the help of Sangguniang
Barangay will do house to house visit to give the relief.
