Introduction
Context of the study

This research conducts how can we help in small acts helping others is good for well-being if it

is intrinsically motivated, rather than driven by the expectation. On the other hand, from the

perspective of the conformity literature, helping others is associated with a higher well-being

when it is linked to the benefits of social conformity, such as social approval.

Our plan is to start a fund raising from everyone who wants to participate and donate. We used

the spin app as a tool because this can encourage people to join. They can help and they can in

the same time have a chance to win prizes. We have created a Facebook page to spread

awareness and to be able to see people because Facebook can give more engagement to people

from our city. Each slot will cost 30 pesos, and there will be 175 slots available.

Review of Related Literature

A certain number of kits are prepositioned in strategic locations to be mobilized quickly in times

of need. Long term agreements with suppliers are also in place to ensure rapid shipment

wherever needed.

In partnership with UNICEF, Unilever Philippines joins this round of distribution by providing

soaps and laundry powder for the family cleaning and hygiene kit adapted for the COVID-19

response. The adapted kit contains soaps, laundry powder, isopropyl alcohol, bleach, rubber

gloves, washable face masks for adults and children, and a bucket with dipper for collecting and

storing water.

Good hygiene is critical in this time of the COVID-19 global pandemic, especially in vulnerable

communities.
URDA launched this project in Al Yasamine refugee camp and a Lebanese poor neighborhood in

Bekaa. Awareness sessions will be conducted, where each will end with the distribution of

hygiene kits that will include: N95 mask, sanitizers, alcohol-based soap, antimicrobial wet wipes

sufficient for 1 family of 5 members. Awareness sessions will include COVID-19 symptoms,

how COVID-19 is transmitted, preventive measures, what to do if a family member displays

symptoms, how to wash hands properly, etc.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it may be advisable to increase the amount of soap and

cleaning products that are being provided to families. If there is more soap and cleaning products

available via hygiene kits, then people will use these resources less sparingly and the frequency

of hygiene practices may increase.

Taguig City continues to expand its COVID-19 efforts to give high quality assistance and service

to all Taguigeños. Mayor Lino advised the public to protect our vulnerable sectors---- senior

citizens and persons with comorbidity. He also highlights the importance of TRACE registration

for your vaccination. As we continue our battle against COVID-19, the City of Taguig also

proceeds on its distribution of Emergency Relief Assistance, family food packs, and anti

COVID-19 kits.

The city of Taguig continues to take steps to combat the ongoing threat of COVID-19. These

include the continued provision of free vaccines in accordance with the priority list from the

Interim National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (iNITAG).The city is now providing

vaccines to senior citizens and non-senior adults between 18-59 years old with the following

medical conditions: Everyone is reminded to download TRACE for a smoother vaccination

process. Strictly no walk-ins allowed.

Taguig City is doing "fairly well" with less number of COVID-19 cases as compared to other

cities, due to its strict implementation of its enhanced community quarantine, Mayor Lino

Cayetano said on Tuesday. At his media briefing, Cayetano cited figures as of April 20, 2020

that Taguig only has 23 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population, placing fifth from the last of

the cities in the National Capital Region.

Reason/s why to conduct the study

We have conducted this project because we want to help our community by giving them some

small help and it can familiarize us with our community and connect us with people, these ideas

can positively impact our perspective. It is our goal to help the community, to develop the

manner and maintain a high level of supporting each other. When you volunteer to help in your

local community, you’re really helping your family and your neighbors and yourself by

Contributing to the community, you will be able to help give them the essential things that are

necessary to help them live from day to day.

Methodology

Program Plan

Our project is a raffle for a cause mainly to spread awareness and blessings. This project

aims to help our community and to fight Covid19 by giving health kits and groceries. We plan to

fund raise from those who want to join and donate. First, we are going to make a Facebook page

and spread awareness to guidelines regarding the Covid19 Pandemic. Second, we are going to

make fundraising on the page through a Spin app, and it will cost 30 pesos per slot; it will be 175

slots, and everyone is free to avail the slots. Furthermore, there will gonna be 5 special winners,

1st and 2nd prize is a grocery package worth 500, 3rd and 4th prize is a 5-kilo bag of rice and the

5th prize is a health kit and the rest of the funds is gonna be used to buy 60 kits, 30 kits for each

barangay, Ususan and Santa Ana. They will help the community while also having the chance to

win a prize.

Methods
The project methods are based on qualitative research since our project was community

engagement. Part of the subject is working collaboratively with and through groups of people to

address the issue in the environment. This study obtains the specific issue, and this study was

conducted a brief interview with barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) on how we are going

to help in our community. Through that, we have planned to propose a project that will help our

community by asking questions: Who, What, Where, When and Who is involved?

 Social media page and netizens

 People around Barangay Sta. Ana and Barangay Ususan

 Authority of Barangay
 What is the topic or topics?

 Spreading of awareness about Covid19 and giving health kits

 Where did this happen? Where is this happening?

 Barangay Sta. Ana and Barangay Ususan

 When did this happen?

 April 29, 2021

Since our project will be doing a lot online due to MECQ, our workforce is minimal. We

coordinated with our barangay official by providing a formal letter that part of our project gives

health kits to those in need and requested documentation as this is part of our requirements.

Sample and Sampling Technique

We utilized two sampling techniques in our research. We use the Simple Random

Sampling technique and the Judgement Sampling technique to determine the respondents of our

study. Stated in the Simple Random Sampling technique that each member of the population has

an equal chance of being included in the samples. Since the lottery we will use has an equal

random chance of winning. The other one is the Judgement Sampling technique which states that

the population is selected based on the judgment of the researcher. Since the donations to both of

the barangay will be given to those who are in need.

Instruments Used

In our research, we first conducted an interview with the SK councilor of our barangay, then we

have given formal letter to request for documentation and, also, informing them that there will be

a donation given to them. We used the questionnaire instrument in our research as the main

instrument in gathering data for our study. Since after giving our fomal letters to our barangay,

we have obtained information by asking SK Councilor the condition of our barangay and the

current issues and problems which needs to be addressed.

Results, Conclusion and Recommendations

Results

The raffle for a cause was successful. We sold 100 slots within 24 hours of posting our raffle for

a cause announcement that is why we came up with the decision of adding 75 more slots. The

target of 30 kits became 60 kits per barangay. Also, the funds for the health kits did not only

came from the raffle for a cause, there were also people who donated money. The kits have been

already distributed to the street sweepers of Barangay Ususan and Barangay Sta. Ana. The result

of the event is very successful, not because we have finished the project but because we were

able to help our fellow Taguigeños who are sacrificing their healths just to maintain the

cleanliness of our city. Furthermore, it was a good experience for those students who

accomplished this project. Plus, students have gained knowledge about certain issues in the

community. That is why this project is not just about requirements or charity work, but also this

is about learning about the knowledge and gaining the experience that students can bring to the

real world.

Conclusion

In the recent months of this pandemic, a lot has been affected and some lost hope in humanity

due to the unending failure and disappointments regarding human rights. But when we have been

able to help and reach out to people who are in need, they had small rays of sunshine in their

lives. We came up with the conclusion that if we gather small amount of help and put a lot of

effort in it, we will be able to bring hope in the lives of others. In return, we will be able to

receive their warm smiles that we will treasure forever.

Recommendation
We recommend to the future implementors of this project, to allot more preparation time in order

to gather more participants and to be able to help more people. And that they should be calm in

implementing this kind of project. They also should communicate well with their group because

in every situation, communication is the key to success. Just by communicating, they will be able

to execute their plans right on time and perfectly.

Individual Insights
Ralph Louis Bolisay - Creating this project makes everyone realized that helping is a good

habit. We started by talking as a group on how we can help as students in small acts but has a big

impact. For me, helping others is a top priority. Being able to provide others with a path toward

success makes me feel valuable. Helping others is one of my greatest joys. When I help others, I

also help myself see the joy and beauty to be found in life. I enjoy being part of this project.

Seeing their joy makes me overjoyed myself! I have love and happiness in my heart, and I enjoy

giving it away to others. I have learned that from volunteering can lead to self-improvement,

confidence, and can even help in finding our sole purpose. It always comes back to me. Helping

others is not only good for them and a good thing to do, it also makes us happier and healthier

too. Giving also connects us to others, creating stronger communities and helping to build a

happier society for everyone

Cindy Buenaflor – Implementing such plan in a short period of time is quite hard. From

preparing a project proposal until the distribution and raffle. Ordering the things inside the kits is

one of the hardest, we wanted to buy cheap things so that we may be able to fit the budget while

also wanting for the orders to come in time. That is why messaging the stores if it is possible to

rush our orders because we have a deadline to meet is one way of engaging with the online

sellers community and thankfully, they have granted my request and the orders have arrived

early just in time for repacking and preparing before the raffle date. With the help of our

connections with barangay officials, we have managed to coordinate with each barangay in

distributing the kits and providing us documentation for the Community Engagement

requirement. When it comes to distributing the kits, seeing people smile genuinely because of the

things we gave them is one of the best rewards of this project. Thankfully, we have managed to

implement this project properly and be able to help others in our little ways. Even if we just only
provided small amount of help, but to our recipients, it is a wonderful thing that happen in one of

their days. Doing these kinds of project will always be stressful and hard, but I will always

choose to do these kinds of things because people’s smiles is one of things that I will be able to

cherish forever in my life.

Gabrielle Cruz – We are a community of students who initiated a project of helping others,

individually making small actions that once put together, makes a big positive impact to the

people. Helping is great because you make their lives easier or a relief for them, as soon as the

project has started I am totally glad because teachers and people in barangay unit as one to guide

us for distributing our donations. Helping others gives us a sense of connectedness, happiness,

fulfilment and meaning. Also, there is no better time than right now to start increasing the quality

of our relationships with those we love. I love my country that is why I am helping without

borders.

Kathrina Estrella – We have been through a hard time during this pandemic. This task gave us

a chance to help other people, even in small ways. For us, this task isn’t just only a requirement,

instead, our main goal with this task is to help our fellow Filipino who are suffering during this

pandemic. I didn’t imagine that I can help those people just by cooperating and helping my

classmates to pursue this kind of task. I have realized that even though we are all facing different

hardships, Filipinos still managed to continue their hospitality and humility. This battle is not

only for the poor and unprivileged, but this battle is for every Filipino, and we Filipinos must

continue to fight for everyone as one.

Charles Joseph Icaro - In this short period of time doing our work immersion, I have gained

inspirational and transformative experience on our project. Though the task is hard to

accomplish, it is very fulfilling to foresee that the result of this will be a great help for them.
Even though our help is not that big, the positive effect will make them happy and can also

change their outlook in life since by giving, it can change their perspective in life that there will

always be hope for everything.

Nathaniel Recto – In my first day to the last of doing this activity, I am so grateful for the

experience I have unlocked; given this activity, gaining the knowledge that I didn’t see or get in

the books we read. Even the task is very challenging as a group, we did our parts to the best of

our abilities, especially for our head leader who organized our task. And I am inspired and

thankful for being part of this activity, to those who availed our slots and donated, and for our

teachers that supported us to share the help to those who are in need. Even a small amount, if we

gather it and apply effort, there is a big impact to our society that will make a change and make

us heal as one in this pandemic.

Iñigo Roxas – I have learned that this is not just simply a “work immersion” it is a realization

that even a small amount of donation we can help a lot of people. I have improved my

cooperation skills because without proper communication and cooperation we could not

accomplish our task
