To Whom it May Concern: 
 
I am very happy to write a letter in support of Kendal Zootis. I have known Kendal for four 
years in my Honors 9th and 10th grade English courses and now in my 11th and 12th-grade 
Pre-Med College Prep English class. I can wholeheartedly say that Kendal is a thoughtful, 
community-minded academic who has a very clear identity and vision of her future. 
As a student, Kendal has always been and continues to be strong in my class. She turns in 
high-quality work, asks questions when she needs to and contributes vibrantly to class 
discussions. I have thoroughly enjoyed talking with Kendal during her senior year and hearing of 
her plans for the future. She has plans to continue her education and to eventually, work in a 
career dedicated to helping others. Kendal is extremely organized, committed to her academic 
success and, in short, Kendal is the type of student that makes teaching enjoyable.   
As a community-minded student, Kendal is equally as dedicated and enthusiastic. She has 
taken advantage of multiple conferences and volunteering opportunities within the PreMed 
program. Kendal's more unique community service experience was in her participation in the 
PreMed Academy's sponsored "Music and Memory" program with a local care home for the 
elderly. Kendal attended monthly meetups with a resident at the local home, created playlists of 
music her resident would identify with, and spent the monthly hour, sharing stories and spending 
time. The health care focus of this volunteer experience called on all of Kendal's skills of 
compassion, attentiveness, adaptability, and creativity. I was lucky to witness the very connected 
relationship Kendal established with her resident over the year-long program and was impressed 
with her level of investment. I cannot recommend Kendal highly enough.. She is independent, 
focused and excited about the next stage in her life. I feel privileged to write her letter of 
recommendation.
