Year End Teacher Gifts - Room Parents (Staff Will Not See This Announcement)
As the end of the school year approaches, Room Parents will be using the remaining funds collected from families earlier
this year to purchase classroom teacher gifts. Look for an email from them describing the gift being sent on behalf of the
whole class. Our PTO will send gift cards to all specials teachers. If you’d like to do an individual gift to a teacher or staff
member, e-gift cards can be sent to teacher’s email addresses or you might consider giving a High Five donation via the
112 Foundation (information below).
Looking for a meaningful end-of-year gift for your child’s teacher? Send a virtual High 5 through the 112 Education
Foundation’s High 5 A Teacher program! Gifting is simple. Make a tax-deductible donation to the 112 Education
Foundation in the teacher’s honor, and we will send a High 5 letting the teacher know of your generosity. Donations to
the 112 Education Foundation help to fulfill our mission of enriching and enhancing educational opportunities for all
children in North Shore School District 112. To donate online, click here.
There are a couple more weeks to order school supply kits from Deerfield Coalition. We recognize that this is an odd and
uncertain situation, but want to to note that orders will only be accepted until June 9th. We will not be selling extra kits
at school in the fall, so if you are interested in purchasing supplies this way, please do so soon. Assignment notebooks
for grades 3-5 may be purchased separately from the kits on the ordering website. We do not plan to sell assignment
notebooks in the school office in the fall.
We will keep you posted if and when any changes occur in the way that kits will be distributed, but for now we are
counting on the usual delivery method straight to your child’s classroom.
Please note, if you have an Edgewood or HPHS student school supply sales are also through Deerfield Coalition.
Thank you to our 5th Grade Celebration Committee (Julie Walter, Suzanne Alexander, Jaime Pine, Tonia Dimitriou, Jen
Freeman, Sarah Snodgrass) for distributing the adorable 5th grade yard signs designed by Jen Freeman. We hope they
brought a smile to the 5th graders’ faces! 5th Grade Families, be on the lookout for another fun surprise delivery from
the 5th Grade Celebration committee in the next couple of weeks.
What to Do: Please record a short school-appropriate video of your talent or year end message, NO LONGER THAN 30
SECONDS, and upload it to https://app.vidhug.com/5th-grade-video-montage/BJs1plys8/record.
Deadline: Please try to submit ASAP but the HARD DEADLINE is Wednesday, May 27th.
Please reach out to Tonia Dimitriou (toniac21@yahoo.com) or Jaime Pine (jmerel20@hotmail.com) with any questions.
Unfortunately, we are not able to put on our 5th grade performance. Instead, I dug deep into 5 years’ worth of photos I
had taken of you making music together. I have known many of you since 1st grade. Some of you I met last year. A few
of you I met over the past 5 months. You are all special to me. I’m so proud of all your hard work, creativity, and musical
growth you accomplished in my class. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.
