PTA President's Message

Hello Adams Eagles!
I've been hearing children mention that we are down to about 40 days of school left this year! How can that be?? This
year has flown right on by! I wanted to thank you for your support for our PTA and for all the amazing volunteer work
that has been given. It has been a successful and fun year thus far! We aren't done yet! ha ha. There are still MANY
opportunities to help out coming up!
May 1st is our Adam's Fun Run!!! Packets are in the office if you have misplaced yours that was sent home. This is
such a fun, community building event! If you are interested in volunteering, contact McKenna Crabtree. She is our
Committee Chair this year!
May 4-8 is Teacher Appreciation week! MANY hands make this week a wonderful and WELL deserved week for our
Staff at Adams. They are amazing! We always need volunteers to decorate bulletin boards, make treats, and do other
small acts that week. Contact Rose Behunin or Claudine Brinkerhoff if you would like to help.
June 2nd/3rd is FIELD DAY! Yet ANOTHER fun opportunity to come have a great time with the students and PTA!
Watch for information coming home!
Whew! A lot is headed our way in these SHORT 40 days of school that is left! I hope to see many of you and again,

Letters for Lota!

Lota Ward is a 2nd Grader here at Adams. He was diagnosed with a non-germinomatous germ-cell tumor on March
9th, 2015. He just underwent intense surgery to have some of the tumor removed. We are encouraging out students and
staff to write a Letter for Lota! There is a box in the office where the letters can be collected through April 17th. I hope
we can overfill that box to show encouragement and cheers as Lota and his family recover from this surgery! They
have a Facbook page to follow his progress: Lotatoa-Our Warrior. I know many children are familiar with Lota or his
siblings so they may want to follow his recovery. This is a great opportunity for our Children to lift up a fellow Eagle!

Fun Run
The Adams Elementary FUN RUN (5K/Kids K) will be held Friday May 1st, at 6 pm. Registration packets are
available in the main office at the school and also online at adamseaglespta.org. We would love for the students to
prepare for the fun run by being active NOW! There are lots of fun ways to exercise so lace up your shoes and go
walk, run, jump, play.... just MOVE! Our goal is to have each student complete ONE HOUR of exercise per
week. Your student will have an opportunity each week in class to report their progress. Our school-wide goal is to
reach 2,000 hours of exercise prior to the race. Family, friends and neighbors are all invited to help make this a
successful and fun fundraiser! Register by April 17 to ensure getting a race t-shirt!

Book Fair
ITS BOGO TIME
Parents come to the last book fair of the year. Its the book fair everyone has been waiting for: buy 1
get 1 free. It starts on Monday April 20th and runs through Friday April 24th. We will be open every
day from 10 until 4 except for Wednesday April 22 we will stay open until 5pm. We hope to see
you all there.

Teacher Appreciation Week

We still need volunteers to decorate bulletin boards for Teacher Appreciation Week. If you would like to help,

Field Day is Coming!

Adams students really look forward to field day, and it is one of the most fun ways to
volunteer for your child. We will be needing lots of help so please mark June 2 (kindergarten)
and June 3 (all other grades) on your calendar. Well be sending out an email asking for
volunteers soon!

Remember to collect and turn in your Box Tops!

Birthday Table
The next birthday table will be Friday, April 24th . If your child has a birthday in April, have them stop
by the birthday table during lunch recess to receive a gift.

Recycling
Our school earns money for everything that is placed in our recycling bins. Please save all of your
paper and cardboard and place them in our recycling bins. You can even place large cardboard boxes
in the bins. Just make sure to break down them down first. It's an easy way to help the school earn
some extra cash!

Dont Forget to Clip Labels for Education!

When clipping your labels make sure to include the UPC code
so your points count.

School Spirit
Every Friday is School Spirit Day! Wear your school colors or your Adams Eagles T-Shirt. Prizes will
be given out to students who participate.
