IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

1 The candidate must carry printed colored-copy of E-Admit Card on the day of examination to the allocated Test Centre on the Date and Time mentioned
above. The printed E-Admit Card must be presented for verication along with at least one ORIGINAL (not photocopy or scanned copy) valid PHOTO
IDENTIFICATION CARD, viz. Voter Identication Card, Driving License, PAN Card, ID Card issued by PSU/Govt. Department, Passport or Aadhar Card.
THE CANDIDATE SHOULD AFFIX/ PASTE (DO NOT STAPLE) RECENT COLOUR PHOTOGRAPH (AS UPLOADED IN ONLINE APPLICATION) AT
SPACE PROVIDED AND SIGN ACROSS.
College or Employee ID cards will not be considered as valid ID. Carrying valid ID in original to the test centre is mandatory. No candidate will be allowed to
enter at the Test Centre without a valid E-Admit Card and Photo Identication Card as mentioned above.
In case of change of name of a candidate, due to marriage or otherwise, the candidate must bring the original matriculation certicate along with original
Identication Card. The identity of the candidate will be matched from the proofs provided by the candidates.
The E-Admit Card is made available on BHEL website: https://careers.bhel.in for downloading and printing by candidate. Please note that no separate
physical copy of this admit card will be dispatched.
2 In case your E-Admit Card is without photograph, you are advised to bring three recent passport size photographs to the test centre along with original
photo Identication proof for pasting in attendance sheet/admit card by the Invigilator.
3 The E-Admit Card is required to be handed over to the invigilator. So please keep a copy of the same handy for further references.
4 NO REQUEST FOR CHANGE IN TEST DATE/SESSION/CENTRE/VENUE WILL BE CONSIDERED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
5 The total duration of Test is 150 minutes. Consisting of 120 objective type questions, on Knowledge of Discipline/Trade and 120 objective type questions
on General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and General English. Except General English section, all questions shall be bilingual (Hindi/English) and Each
question shall carry equal mark. There will be a 1/4th negative marking in the Test for each incorrect answer. Nobody shall be allowed to go outside the
examination hall during the examination period.
6 Candidates are advised to locate the Test Centre and its accessibility at least a day before the test so that they can reach the test centre on time for the test.
BHEL will not be responsible for late coming.
7 Candidates must report to their allotted Test Centre at least one and a half hour before the commencement of test. The entry gates of Test Centre will be
closed half an hour before commencement of test. NO LATE COMING ENTRY WILL BE ALLOWED THEREAFTER.
8 The Biometric Attendance Registration and Capturing of Photograph shall be done at Registration Desk by Test Administrators. Thereafter, the Candidate
should not leave the Test Centre Hall/Room till completion of Computer Based Test. No candidate shall be allowed to leave the Examination Hall before the
verication of all the candidates is completed. This may take approximately 30 minutes after the completion scheduled time of the Computer Based Test.
9 The User ID and PASSWORD for the Computer Based Test will be provided to the Candidates 10 minutes before commencement of test at their respective
computer terminal by test administrators/invigilators. The candidate will be required to enter Login ID and PASSWORD for appearing in Computer Based
Test. Please ensure that candidate particulars appearing on the computer screen are correct after Login.
10 Candidates should check the particulars i.e., Name, Date of Birth, Photograph, Signature, Category, etc mentioned in E-Admit Card carefully and also
eligibility in all respects as per recruitment Advertisement. In case of any discrepancy the candidates are advised to bring the original documents for
verication along with a set of self-attested photocopy and 03 passport size photographs at the examination centre on the day of examination.
11 Candidates appearing in the computer based test should, in their own interest, check their eligibility for the post applied as per recruitment advertisement
of BHEL and ensure that he/she fullls all eligibility criteria in all respects as mentioned therein for the post before appearing in Computer Based Test to
avoid disappointment at any later stage as his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled, if found ineligible for the post at later stages of selection process
pending scrutiny of eligibility and verication of testimonials, certicates and documents regarding eligibility.
12 Your candidature for the computer-based test is "PURELY PROVISIONAL" pending detailed scrutiny of eligibility as per BHEL’s Advertisement and
recruitment rules of BHEL. In case, it is found at any stage of recruitment/selection process that the candidate does not fulll the eligibility criteria and
information provided by the candidate is found to be false or is not in conformity with the eligibility criteria mentioned in advertisement including Age, Caste
Category, Sub-Category, Educational Qualication, etc the candidature of the applicant/candidate will be rejected at any stage of recruitment/selection
process and even after appointment.
13 The candidate should bring only E-Admit Card, valid photo ID Card, at least 03 recent color passport size photograph(s) and Blue Ball Point pen to Test
Center.
Frisking will be done at entry gates. Candidates are strictly advised not to bring any electronic devices, viz., mobile/cellular/smart phones, electronic
gadgets, pen drives, hard disks, earphones or microphones, electronic watches with computing facilities, electronic or non electronic communication
devices, hand bags, purse, calculator, log tables, papers, digital diaries, books, note books, etc which are strictly prohibited in test centers. If any candidate
found in possession of any of these devices/documents, his/her candidature is liable to be disqualied. Candidates are also advised not to bring any
valuable/costly items to the test centers as arrangement for safe keeping will not be provided and test center will not be responsible for safe custody, loss or
theft.
14 Anyone found to be disclosing, publishing, reproducing, transmitting, storing or facilitating transmission and storage of test contents in any form or any
information therein in whole or part thereof or by any means, i.e., verbal or written, electronic or mechanical or taking away the papers supplied in the test
centre or found to be in unauthorized possession of test content will be considered as serious misconduct and will be debarred/disqualied from selection
process. BHEL will take disciplinary and legal action as per rules and such cases will be reported to police, if necessary.
15 The admit card does not constitute an offer of employment.
16 In case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected- BA) and cerebral palsy, the candidate
may opt for his or her own scribe for marking responses (answers) on their behalf, if so desired. In case of other category of persons with benchmark
disabilities with disability of 40% or more, a candidate may opt for his or her own scribe for marking responses (answers) on their behalf, if so desired,
subject to submission of a copy of his/her PWD certicate, provided that they produce original medical certicate, physical limitation certicate (format on
website https://careers.bhel.in), issued by competent medical authority regarding such disability at the time of entry to the examination centre (as per
government guidelines). All such candidates with the above benchmark disabilities and possessing the requisite medical certicate will be allowed
“compensatory time” of 20 minutes per hour i.e. 50 minutes for 2 ½ hrs (over and above the normal duration of examination). A scribe declaration form
has been provided on the BHEL website, which is to be downloaded, lled and brought along with admit card on the day of examination.
In addition, all such candidates have to handover a photocopy of physical limitation certicate to invigilator along with their e-admit card.
17 Important: The result of this written test along with instruction and schedule of further stages of recruitment will be published on BHEL’s Website
https://careers.bhel.in. All candidates are advised to remain in constant touch with BHEL website for further information etc.
18 Note for PWD Candidates (Visually Impaired)/Locomotor disability (Both arms)/candidates whose writing speed is affected by CEREBRAL
PALSY& Other candidates who will produce Physical Limitation Certicate:
1. If you require a scribe to assist you in the Test to read the questions and for marking the answers, you may bring scribe along with you to the exam
centre on the date of examination at your own cost.
2. The qualication of the scribe accompanying the candidate should be lower than the candidate’s qualication. The candidate has to submit a letter of
undertaking for using own scribe in this regard. The proforma can be downloaded from https://careers.bhel.in
3. The role of scribe is not to aid you in solving the questions or suggest answers. His/her role is to: -
a) Mark the answers with all particulars with the help of Admit Card and ask the candidate to sign and afx left hand thumb impression at the
bottom of the page 1 as provided; and
b) To read the questions to you one by one and the answer choices and when you tell him/her to mark a particular answer choice, he/she will
mark the same and proceed to read the next question and so on, till all the questions are completed.
COMPUTER BASED TEST INSTRUCTIONS

1. Total duration of test/examination is as mentioned in the E-Admit card.


2. The clock will be set at the server. The countdown timer in the top right corner of screen will display the remaining time
available for you to complete the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself. You will not
be required to end or submit your examination.
3. The Question Palette displayed on the right side of screen will show the status of each question using one of the following
symbols:

4. To answer a question, do the following:


a. Click on the question number in the Question Palette to go to that question directly.
b. Click on Save &Next to save your answer for the current question and then go to the next question.
c. Click on Mark for Review & Next to save your answer for the current question, mark it for review, and then go to the
next question.
d. Caution: Note that your answer for the current question will not be saved, if you navigate to Another question directly
(without saving the answer) by clicking on its question number.

Answering a Question:

5. Procedure for answering a multiple choice type question:


a. To select your answer, click on the button of one of the options.
b. To deselect your chosen answer, click on the button of the chosen option again or click on the Clear Response button.
c. To change your chosen answer, click on the button of another option
d. To save your answer, you MUST click on the Save & Next button. To mark the question for review, click on the Mark for
Review & Next button. If an answer is selected for a question that is Marked for Review, that answer will not be
considered in the evaluation since there is negative marking for each wrong answer.
