PROCEDURE OF SOLVING THE PROBLEM:
IN THREE STEPS EACH PROBLEM CAN BE SOLVED:( As Shown In Previous Illustration )
STEP 1. Assume suitable conditions & draw Fv & Tv of initial position.
STEP 2. Now consider surface inclination & draw 2nd Fv & Tv.
STEP 3. After this, consider side/edge inclination and draw 3rd ( final) Fv & Tv.
Now Complete STEP 2. By making surface inclined to the resp. plane & project it’s other view.
(Ref. 2nd pair B on previous page illustration )
Now Complete STEP 3. By making side inclined to the resp. plane & project it’s other view.
(Ref. 3nd pair C on previous page illustration )
Ex. 9-1: An equilateral triangular lamina of 30mm side lies on one of its sides on
HP. The lamina makes 45o with HP and one of its medians is inclined at 400 to the
VP. Draw its projections.

Ex. 9-2 : A regular hexagonal lamina of 28mm side is resting on HP on one of its sides such that the side is
perpendicular to the VP and the plane of the lamina is inclined to the HP at 450. the lamina is then rotated
through 900 so that the side on the HP becomes parallel to the VP, still keeping the angle of the plane of
the lamina with HP as 450. Draw the front and top views of the lamina held in its position.

Ex. 9-6 An equilateral triangular prism 20mm side of base and 50mm long rests with one of its
shorter edges on HP such that rectangular face containing the edge on which the prism rests is
inclined at 300 to HP. The edge on which the prism rests is inclined at 600 to the VP. Draw its
projections.
