MDS Services
MDS’ Scope of Work is divided into four parts, namely

1. Deployment of the Basic Network Infrastructure


2. Deployment of the Unified Communication Solution
3. Deployment of the Audio & Video Conferencing Solution
4. Certified Training

Deployment of the Basic Network Infrastructure


This work parcel consists of the following services:

1. Procurement and delivery of the basic network infrastructure hardware and software and Cisco
Support Services as detailed in the Bill of Materials
2. Conduct technical workshop and develop Low Level Design (LLD), Network Implementation Plan
(NIP), and Acceptance Test Plan (ATP) Document
3. Installation and configuration as per LLD and NIP, and testing and commissioning as per ATP of
new network infrastructure hardware and software at SGRF premises in Muscat covering the
following:
a. Cisco Catalyst 4510RE x1
b. Cisco Catalyst 3560X x3
c. Cisco ASA 5510 Firewall x1
d. Cisco Wireless LAN Controller and Access Points x5
4. Integration of the above hardware and software with existing network infrastructure
5. Documentation, Knowledge Transfer and Hand-over

Deployment of the Unified Communication Solution


This work parcel consists of the following services:

1. Procurement and delivery of Cisco Unified Communication hardware and software and Cisco
Support Services as detailed in the Bill of Materials
2. Conduct technical workshop and develop Low Level Design (LLD), Network Implementation Plan
(NIP), and Acceptance Test Plan (ATP) Document
3. Installation and configuration as per LLD and NIP, and testing and commissioning as per ATP of
new network infrastructure hardware and software at SGRF premises in Muscat covering the
following:
a. Cisco Unified Communication Manager including Unity x1
b. Cisco MeetingPlace x1
c. Associated Cisco server hardware and operating system
d. Cisco 2921 ISR Voice Gateway x1
e. Cisco IP Phones and IP Communicator as per the Bill of Materials
f. Cisco VG224 Analog Voice Gateway x1
4. Integration of the above hardware and software with SGRF LAN infrastructure
5. Connection of Cisco 2921 Voice Gateway to the Service Provider network
6. Connection of Cisco VG224 Voice Gateway to existing analog telephone end-points
7. Integration of Cisco MeetingPlace and Cisco Unity with Microsoft Exchange
8. Documentation, Knowledge Transfer and Hand-over

Deployment of the Audio & Video Conferencing Solution


This work parcel consists of the following services:

1. Procurement and delivery of Audio and Video Conferencing hardware and software and Cisco
Support Services as detailed in the Bill of Materials
2. Conduct technical workshop and develop Low Level Design (LLD), Network Implementation Plan
(NIP), and Acceptance Test Plan (ATP) Document
3. Installation and configuration as per LLD and NIP, and testing and commissioning as per ATP of
new Audio and Video Conferencing hardware and software at SGRF premises in Muscat covering
the following:
a. Cisco MCU4505 x1
b. Cisco VCS x1
c. Cisco Profile 52 Single x4
d. Cisco Profile 52 Dual x1
e. Cisco EX60 x8
f. Cisco EX90 x2
g. Cisco 7935 x5
4. Integration of the above hardware and software with SGRF LAN infrastructure
5. Integration of the above hardware and software with Cisco Unified Communication System
6. Integration of the above hardware and software with Microsoft Exchange
7. Documentation, Knowledge Transfer and Hand-over

Certified Training
This work parcel consists of providing Certified Training courses for three (3) SGRF IT personnel covering
basic administration of the core equipment / software of the following:

1. Basic Network Infrastructure


2. Unified Communication Solution
3. Audio / Video Conferencing Solution

Document Deliverables
MDS shall submit the following documents as part of the project:

1. Project Plan describing all engagement activities to be conducted


Project plan to be completed by both MDS Project Manager and Customer assigned Point of
Contact or Project Manager

2. Low Level Design (LLD), Network Implementation Plan (NIP), Network Migration Plan (NMP), and
Acceptance Test Plan (ATP) for the network infrastructure, Unified Communication Solution and
Audio/Video Conferencing Solution as described in the preceding section.
3. As-Built Documentation

Out of MDS Scope


The following services are not included in MDS’ scope under this project but can be priced separately on
SGRF’s request:

1. Structured Cabling work


2. Civil and Electrical Work
3. Customization of Microsoft Exchange / Active Directory

SGRF Deliverables
The success of this deployment is dependent on the following services to be arranged by the Customer:

1. Dedicated project engineer


2. Provide access to MDS engineers/specialists/consultants to the locations where we are installing
call managers
3. Suitable installation environment, including the following:
3.1 Electrical power
3.2 required rack space
3.3 ISDN PRI Connectivity to service provider for the voice gateway
3.4 Internet Connectivity to service provider

The following technical issues that may be encountered during the Materials Delivery and
Implementation shall be resolved by SGRF:

1. Authorization and required license to use IP-based video conferencing solution from relevant
authorities in Oman
2. Service availability from the telephone and Internet service providers
Project Schedule / Timelines
MDS commits to start new engagements no later than twenty (20) business days after a signed Contract
or irrevocable purchase order is received from the customer.

Materials (software and hardware) delivery is estimated to be six (6) to eight (8) weeks after receipt of
confirmed purchase order is received from the customer.

The delivery lifecycle for the implementation is estimated in the table below, although it is dependent
upon availability of information and resources from the SGRF; complexity of the network and issues
identified; and dependencies on other projects and/or engagements.
