INTRODUCTION

AutoCAD is a commercial computer-aided design(CAD) and drafting software application for 2D

and 3D. AutoCAD available since 1982 as a desktop application and since 2010 as a mobile
web and cloud based app marketed as AutoCAD 360. AutoCAD can be defined as the use of
computer systems to assist in the creation, modification, optimization of a design. In this, we can
create both 2D and 3D drawings used in construction and manufacturing. It was developed by
John Walker in the year 1982 with the help of Autodesk and maintain it successfully. The first
version by Autodesk was demonstrated at the 1982 and released in December, running on
microcomputers with internal graphics controller. Prior to the introduction of AutoCAD , most
commercial CAD programs ran on mainframe computers or minicomputers, with each CAD
operator (user) working at a separate graphics terminal. AutoCAD is used across a wide range
of industries, by architects, project managers, engineers, graphic designers and others
professional. It is supported by 750 training centers worldwide as of 1994.

HISTORY

Sejarah AutoCAD was derived from a program begun in 1977 and was released in 1979 called
Interact CAD, also referred to in early Autodesk documents as MicroCAD, which was written
prior to Autodesk’s (then Marinchip Software Partners) formation by Autodesk cofounder Mike
Riddle.The first version by the AutoDesk Company was demonstrated at the 1982 Comdex and
released at December. The 2016 release marked the 30th major release for the AuotCAD for
Windows. The 2014 release marked the fourth consecutive year for AutoCAD for Mac.

1. The first step is to download AutoCAD accordingly based on the appropriate years such
as 2007,2019,2020 and more. As a student we can easily get the AutoCAD student
version without having to make any payments.
2. So we need fill out the form that contains our data and when it is finished we will be sent
a verification email. and then click to verify our account. Next we are asked to fill in the
requested data, for example you are from which institution and other things.
3. After the dowload is finished, we can start using it.
4. Madam provides some data on the details of the Teluk Gadung plan in pdf form. So we
need to prepare and complete the autocad drawing based on the data on the plan.
5. Firstly, we must set and insert the correct units in our drawing. This is important to do as
it will affect the dimensions and scale of all our drawing.
6. Click at the command and type “UNITS” and also choose “Decimal” and “Decimal
Degrees” for the length and angle types respectively and set the precision to 0.000. Next
the the North 270degree as a direction.
7. The next step is click at the polyline as a line to be used. After that,enter the correct
coordinates based on the plan. We need to connect the next line by inserting the correct
distance and bearing values down to the last line. Click button Enter to finish entering
the bearing and distance data to see the result of the line.
8. Repeat the same steps as no. 7 to generate traverse lines and the next lines and make
sure all the value of distance and bearing are correctly.
9. Once the drawing is formed, we need to create a layer for each existing line such as the
traverse line and the lot line. Choose layer properties and click at the new layer. So enter
the appropriate name for each layer you want to create such as a traverse layer or layer.
10. Then insert the pdf file of the Teluk Gadung plan into the AutoCAD drawing generated
via the pdf import to paste into the new drawing.
11. Next, rotate and expand the pdf plan to its existing form. Make sure the scale and
position of the pdf plan is the same as the new drawing that you have created to paste.
12. Identify each symbol on the pdf plan such as trees, roads, traffic lights and poles. Then
we need to produce every symbol and shape found in the pdf plan as in the original
drawing.
13. Lastly , save the drawing into AutoCAD 2007 to print on A3 paper.
14. Plan details is ready to sent.
