5. Subject
Instruction to solve the oil carry (oil mist out of inlet) over failures on GA7-37VSD+.

6. Reason for this ECB

We experienced some failures about oil mist from the air filter on GA7-37VSD+, this ECB is released to inform the field to
solve the problems by modifying program settings or replacing solenoid valve.

7. Description
Please refer to follow steps to check if failures happened。
1. Check if inlet valve seized
2. Check MK5 parameters:
a. Find program in Airport

b. Select correct unit type with correct controller (MK5 or MK5S)

c. Check if the parameters are correct

d. Usually most problems will be solved after above three steps are checked.
If there are still traces of oil mist over the air filter, please check if it occurs during starting and at low
speed. If this is the case is, please follow step “e “
e. Increase stop delay time from 300 to 500

f. Please replace new special solenoid valve 1089 0580 10 if the problem could not solve after checking
above steps

8. Application
All 7-37kW VSD+ units.

9. Required parts

11. Reimbursement criteria

Standard warranty conditions will apply: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months ex-factory (whichever comes first)
In case of failure within the warranty period, a maximum of 2 hours of labour time and if required the cost of the air inlet filter
may be claimed. You may apply this ECB preventively but in this case no labour or part cost will be approved due to the
minimal time needed to update the database. It is advised to apply this ECB on machines with a service contract together
with other maintenance activities.

12. Reporting
No FRET is required. In case of failure please claim in WANT referring to this ECB.

13. Safety precautions
The operator must employ safe working practices and observe all related local work safety requirements and regulations.
• Maintenance must only be performed by authorised, trained and specialised personnel.
• Before maintenance, repair work, adjustment or any other non-routine checks, stop the compressor, switch off the
voltage, press the emergency button and depressurise the compressor. In addition, the power insolating switch must
be opened and locked.
• Use only the correct tools for maintenance and repair work.
• All maintenance work shall only be undertaken when the machine has cooled down.
• A warning sign bearing a legend such as ‘Work in progress; do not start’ shall be attached to the starting equipment.
• Persons switching on remotely controlled machines shall take adequate precautions to ensure that there is no one
checking or working on the machine. To this end, a suitable notice shall be affixed to the remote start equipment.
• Close the compressor air outlet valve before connecting or disconnecting a pipe.
• Before removing any pressurized component, effectively isolate the machine from all sources of pressure and relieve
the entire system of pressure.
• Scrupulously observe cleanliness during maintenance and repair. Keep dirt away by covering the parts and exposed
openings with a clean cloth, paper or tape.
• Make sure that no tools, loose parts or rags are left in or on the machine.
• All regulating and safety devices shall be maintained with due care to ensure that they function properly. They may
not be put out of action.
• Always wear the following personal protective equipment: Work clothing, safety shoes, safety goggles, ear protection
and safety gloves when there is a cutting risk or a risk for a heat injury.

The safety guidelines are described in the instruction “Risk Assessment GA & GA VSD Dismantling a compressor ” with
publication nr 2946 9115 XX (available on GBP/Service/Technical Info/chapter “Risk Assessment”).
