1. IN A VENN DIAGRAM SHOW THE DIFFERENCES AND THE SIMILARITIES OF MEASUREMENT,
EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT.
(10 PTS.)

2. TRADITIONAL OR PAPER AND PENCIL TESTS ARE SAID TO MEASURE COGITIVE AS CITED BY
BLOOM AND FACTUAL KNOWLEDGE AS CITED BY MARZANO . DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS
STATEMENT? YES OR NO? SUPPORT YOUR ANSWER. (10 PTS.)
I agree with the statement of Marzano because cognition is all mental processes.
This traditional or paper tests is the first type of classroom test which measured our cognitive
domains of learning, this response is called alternate response which is only using our lower
order thinking skills (LOTS) questioning. Examples are true or false, yes or no and multiple
choices.
3. IF TRADITIONAL TESTS MEASURES ONLY THE COGNITIVE DOMAIN WHAT THEN ARE
MEASURED BY AUTHENTIC OR NON TRADITIONAL TESTS? EXPLAIN AND EXEMPLIFY.(15 PTS.)
Second type of classroom test is non-traditional or authentic test which is measured our
psychomotor domains of learning. It has two types also first is the product to asses the learning
tasks of students, examples are research project, collage, reflective journal and product output.
Another is performance based output that assess the performances of the learners, examples
are experiments, oral presentation, demo presentation and any other presentations.
4. TEST VALIDITY IS ALWAYS BASED ON THE EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES OR LESSON
OBJCTIVES. WRITE THREE OBJECTIVES BASED ON THE THREE LEARNING DOMAINS AND
TRANSLATE THESE OBJECTIVES INTO ASSESSMENT FORMS. (15 PTS)
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. explain what is a food web;
assessment: What is a food web?
b. appreciate the importance of food web in an ecosystem;
Assessment: How will you appreciate the food web in an ecosystem?
c. construct a food web
Assessment: Construct a food web using rat as a prey.
5. TESTS ARE CONDUCTED TO MEASURE WHETHER STUDENTS LEARNED THE LESSONS OR NOT,
MS. REYES HAS 10 BOYS AND 10 GIRLS IN HER ENGLISH CLASS, SHE CONDUCTED THE
SUMMATIVE TESTS CALLED PERIODICAL EXAM, SHE FOUND OUT THAT THE GIRLS WERE
GETTING HIGH SCORES THAN THE BOYS. WOULD THE RESULT MEAN THAT THE BOYS WERE
LESS INTELLIGENT THAN THE GIRLS? SHOULD THE GIRLS GET HIGHER GRADES THAN THE BOYS?
IS THE SUMMATIVE TEST ENOUHG FOR MS REYES TO DECIDE WHAT GRADE TO GIVE TO HER
STUDENTS? WHAT OTHER MEASURES SHOULD MS REYES DO TO COME UP WITH MORE VALID
GRADES FOR HER STUDENTS. WHATN DO YOU THINK ARE THE OTHER FACTGORS THAT A
TEACHER SHOULD LOOK INTO IN COMING UP WITH A STUDENT GRADE? (50 [PTS.)
If girls getting high scores than the boys it doesn't mean that they were less intelligent. Why?
We have nine multiple intelligences which can identify where are we good at. Maybe the boys
werennot good in English subject but good in Math. The results of the summative test is not
only the bases of giving grades but also in formative test. Grades must not come from only one
source but also in other types of assessemnt. The learning tasks and the performance output of
students is one of the source of giving grades.
The factors that a teacher should look in giving grades is how well his/her students do in tests
and exams, class participation and homework.
