Solutions
Solution 1 to 5:
Solution 1: (2) Except Edward, all other friends likE London dairy

Solution 2: (5) Both Edward and Henry like Corner House

Solution 3: (4) Deepika sits second to the left of Charlie

Solution 4: (3) Faridha is second to the left of Edward

Solution 5: (2)
The position of Faridha will only remain the same, except Amanet
Solution 6 - 10:

Solution 6: (2) Rakul is fourth to the right of Pranav

Solution 7: (4) Madhu sits exactly in the middle row

Solution 8: (2) Pradeep sits to the immediate left of Neha

Solution 9: (3) In all the group the first board member is immediate left to the second board member
but in the group Tanmay - Raghu, first person Tanmay is immediate right to the second person, Raghu.
Thus, this pair is the odd one.
Solution Q.10: (1)

Solution 11: (5) There is no error in this sentence ‘Many a/an’ is used as a determiner before a
singular noun that takes a singular verb.

Solution 12: (3) Singular subject takes singular verb. ‘Football match’ is a singular subject that will take
the verb ‘was’ not ‘were’.

Solution 13: (1) The determiner ‘each’ is always followed by a singular noun and a singular verb

Solution 14: (4) The idiom used is incorrect. The correct idiom is ‘in the pipeline’, which means in the
process or que

Solution 15: (2) ‘As soon as’ does not require ‘that’. So ‘that’ will have to be omitted from the sentence
to make it grammatically correct.

Solution 16: Choice (1) is incorrect The correct idiom here is ‘laugh up your sleeve’ or ‘laugh in your
sleeve’. The rest of the usage is correct.
Solution 17: Answer (4) has the incorrect usage of the word ‘cut’. The correct sentence should be ‘He
wasn’t cut out for priesthood.

Solution 18: y = 125 + 10% of 125 = 125 + 12.50 = 137.50

Therefore, x = 137.50 - 10% of 137.50 = 137.50 -13.75 = 123.75

Solution 19:

9 + 2=11
11+4=15
15+8=23
23+16=39
39+32=71

Solution 20:

48 23 ? 4.25 1.125
It follows 2x + 2 series from R.H.S
1.125 x 2 + 2 = 4.25
4.25 x 2 + 2 =10.5
10.5 x 2 + 2 = 23

Hence 10.5 is the number to complete the series.

Solution 21: total number of balls = 8 + 7 + 6 = 21

Let E = event that ball drawn is neither red nor green

= event that the ball drawn is red
∴ n(E) = 8.
∴ P (E) = 8/21

Solution 22: Let the sum be ₹y then as per the question SI becomes y.
Now, y = [10 x y x R] / 100
Therefore, R = 10%

Solution 23: Statement I ⇒ 4a2 + 36a - 4a - 36 = 0

⇐ 4a (a + 9) -4 (a + 9) = 0
⇐ (4a - 4) (a +9) = 0
⇐ a = -9, 1
Statement II ⇒ 5b2 - 10b - 8b + 16 = 0
⇐ 5b (b - 2) -8 (b - 2) = 0
⇐ (5b - 8) (b - 2) = 0
⇐ b = 8/5, 2
Therefore, a < b

Solution 24: Statement I ⇒ 14a2 + 49a + 2a + 7 = 0

⇐ 7a (2a + 7) + (2a + 7) = 0
⇐ (7a + 1) (2a + 7) = 0
⇐ a = -1/7, -7/2

Statement II ⇒ b2 +

 9b - 7b - 63 = 0

⇐ b(b + 9) - 7(b + 9) = 0
⇐ (b + 9) (b - 7) = 0
⇐ b = -9, 7
Therefore, a < b

Solution 25: Statement I ⇒ a = -13

Statement II ⇒ b2 + 13 x 2 x b + 132 = 0
⇐ (b +13)2 = 0
⇐ b = -13

Therefore, a = b
