Overview on Walls
Want to advance your 3D designing career? Autodesk Revit is the solution! It’s a powerful
software that automates the task of designing for various kinds of architectural structures. When
it comes to creating multi-layered frames for floors, walls, and roofs, Revit tops the designing
software list.
Autodesk Revit supports high-quality designing that comes with detailed elements such as
structural insulated panels (SIPs), cross-laminated timber (CLT), etc. We take you to a small
journey to understand enlist the path to how developing high-end architectural designs and
enrich your workflow by using the fundamentals of the Revit user interface, walls, floors and
roofs.
Revit is software for BIM - Its powerful tools let you use the intelligent model-based
process to plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure. Revit
supports a multidiscipline design process for collaborative design.

Levels define vertical heights in the building. Creating the stories or plans in a building
project.
Structural Grids indicates how to space the bays of a building. These allows us to locate
columns, walls, and other construction elements. Any element referenced to the grids will
change with any grid changes.
Walls in Revit are more than just two lines on a plan. They are full 3D elements that store detailed
information, such as height, thickness, and materials.
This means they are useful in 2D and 3D vies, and also impact material takeoff schedules and
other vital information.
In Revit, there are three major walls
categories:
Autodesk Revit supports high-quality designing that comes with detailed elements such as
structural insulated panels (SIPs), cross-laminated timber (CLT), etc.

Floors in Revit can be created as any flat or slopped surface, such as interior floors, balconies,
decks and patios. Normally, in Revit floors are created in plan view.
Also in Revit floor panels are supported with high-quality designing that comes with detailed
elements such as structural insulated panels (SIPs), cross-laminated timber (CLT), etc.

Roofs in Revit can be created as simple or complex ones. For this we have two different methods
to create roofs in Revit:
➢ Roofs by Footprint. This is similar to creating a Floor by following the footprint of the shape of
the building
➢ Roofs by Extrusion. It is using a profile that controls the shape of the roof
Also in Revit Roofs panels are supported with high-quality designing that comes with detailed
elements such as structural insulated panels (SIPs), cross-laminated timber (CLT), etc.

Revit’s ultimate impact within an AEC firm is the call to bring the three major parties of a project
more closely together: The Owner, the Architect, and the Builder.
Just like the digital revolution changed the way we access films and music; Revit BIM is changing
the way we do projects. It isn’t just a new step in digitizing an age-old process but a completely
new way of working. Because of this, adopting Revit BIM is about far more than hardware and
software investment. Revit BIM must become your business as usual.
The key is understanding what BIM means for you – now and in the future – and then planning
and working that plan.
