Internship experience

8.0. INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE


Introduction

Walton is one of the leading companies electric and electronic industries of Bangladesh, I am
fortunate to o complete my internee in such a big organization. Through my internship period I
have learned so many things from the organization which I have not learned before. I was
placed in Walton Corporate and Marketing Ltd. to complete my internship. A brief description is
given below about my internship experience:

Duties and responsibilities within the organization

As I was an intern my duties and responsibilities was not so serious type. I had to go the office
six days in a week. Sometimes I had watched the working process of corporate sales and
marketing. Mainly my responsibility was to learn work.

As an Internship student, Walton HIL (Walton) gave me simple but very important task.

My duties and responsibilities are follows –

_ Make relationship with new customer


_ Improve relationship with present customers
_ Provide Quotation to new & present customers/ Company’s
_ Provide Bill to new & present customers/ Company’s
_ Collect Bill from the customers/ Company’s
_ Warrant receiving
_ Collect pay order, Cheque, or Cash
_ Balance transfer
_ Make new & present customers/ Company’s list
_ Provide Customer Care service

Reporting structure

The topic and guideline for preparing my report was given by the “Assistant Managing Director”
of Walton High-tech Ind. Ltd. Mr. Serajul Islam. He and Mr. Asaduzzaman (Senior Manager),
Department and division was my super visor for the entire internship period.

Department or division

As I am a student of BBA and my major was in marketing I was placed in marketing department
of Walton High-tech Ind. Ltd.

Contribution to the organization

As an intern I have little to contribute for the organization. My topic was research based so I had
to conduct a research which they will use in their Marketing department in future.
Related with Marketing

Walton HIL is emphasis on the Electric & Electronics and Automobiles and
Telecommunication industry. As a result, they encourage people to purchase their
products.

Walton HIL, Corporate Marketing & Sales Section is very busy department. Every day
this department deals with their huge number of clients and customers. So, they need
effective public relation with them.

I worked as a “Corporate Marketing & Sales Executive” and this is the important position
of public relation and Salesmanship & Sales Management. Public relation and
Salesmanship & Sales Management is the part of the marketing. Without good Sales
Management technique and public relation, any organization can’t survive. I applied my
consumer behavior knowledge to tactfully handle the clients or customers.
