“A Citizen of an Ever-Changing World”

Stand on higher ground as you can,
Believe you can, believe we can
Adjusting to this ever-changing world
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

You can't take away what's been given

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You can't live for yesterday

If only we could decide where we're going
Now is our moment
We can begin our new day
In the time it takes to blink
We could change the world.

We don’t need magic to change the world,

You have within you the strength, the patience,
and the passion to change the world.
In a gentle way, you can shake the world.
Just keep your eyes on the stars,
And feet on the ground.

Time changes, and our desires change.

What we believe and even what we are is ever changing.
Wait for your moment It could be coming today,
In the time it takes to blink It can pass you by.
It’s okay to be a glowstick; sometimes we have to break
Before we shine, like a star in the night sky.
You must be the change you want to see in this world.
