Ques:
While going back to college in August, propose some interactive system designs which will
help in safe interaction like when you reach the airport/station or when you get into a
taxi, what will be the various interaction systems which can ensure your safety on your
journey back to college. Draw diagrams and system designs along with the proposed idea

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly


discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will
experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special
treatment. The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through
droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales.
These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air, and quickly fall on floors or
surfaces. You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close
proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated
surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.

Complete Cashless Transactions for Buses


Problems with existing system:
• Buses usually use cash payments for tickets which is not safe in current
scenario
• Interaction with the conductor necessary
• No social distancing followed in buses

In the current situation of Covid-19, we can avoid contact while travelling by


allowing the cabs and taxis to accommodate only 1 customer at a time and
buses to accommodate lesser number of passengers to maintain social
distancing avoid any contact. It should be made mandatory to wear face masks
and gloves to further prevent spreading Covid-19. The payment of cabs and
buses should be made completely cashless to prevent covid-19. This can be
easily adapted in cabs and taxis. For buses there should be an app developed
to book ticket to a destination from a bus stop. Also, the fare for all buses
should be made same for time being. After buying ticket on the app a QR code
or a barcode would be given to the passenger that he would have to scan in
the bus. A RFID scanner can be fitted at the door of the bus and would help in
scanning the generated code. There need not be any login required for the
app. Only destination and staring point to be provided and after successful
payment a QR or Barcode would be generated. Also, the use of speech and
gesture would be beneficial as it would prevent touching of the screens
through which corona usually spreads. The user can input the data in the
system using voice commands and after booking can speak a command to view
the QR code for scanning on the bus. Also, fibre glass can be used in cabs to
create a separation between the driver and the passenger. This will allow no
interaction between the cab driver and the passenger hence maintaining social
distancing
The proposed system will remove the interaction caused in bus travel between
the conductor and the passenger. Also this would help maintain social
distancing and hence help the spread of Covid-19. This solution is very
important in these times of a pandemic.

Flight Ticket and Boarding Pass System

Problems with existing system:


• Waiting lines to get boarding pass
• Interaction with many people
• Time consuming

Long queues can be seen at the airport to collect boarding pass. In times of the
pandemic this is a major problem. This can become a spreading ground for the
coronavirus. To prevent this from happening, a new system is proposed. One
can make a visual system that can just scan one’s Id and Ticket QR to generate
a pass. This system can do multiple things at once and can actually filter the
travellers who are unwell as well by doing a quick temperature scan as well.

There would smart kiosks placed at the counter at the airport. These kiosks will
be fitted with a temperature sensor that would measure the temperature of
each traveller. It will require the ID proof and ticket for the generation of the
boarding pass. To interaction with any person would be required. Also, the
passenger details and pictures would be stored in case of future needs. This is
a completely sensor-based system and no third person would be involved in
this system. Placing many such kiosks at the airport would handle crowd
efficiently. This would follow the norms of social distancing which would
prevent spread of covid-19. Also, this system would reduce the time-
consuming process.
This system will eradicated the long queue for boarding pass and help in crowd
control. This will also help in maintaing social distancing and lesser interaction
with other people. The airport staff would not be needed anymore for
boarding pass. This will help in reducing interaction between the airport
personnel and the traveller hence prevent spread of covid-19.
