Create a Shutterfly Photo Book

By Janet Burt

Purpose of the Course This training will help new and inexperienced Shutterfly customers gain
confidence in creating a photo book. Learners will be introduced to the
customization options available to them - photo layout and editing, background
styles, text color and font, stickers, ribbons, and framing.

Students will have opportunities to practice implementing each concept.

The training will be targeted at adults (18+) who either:
Audience Description
• Want to create a photo book with Shutterfly for the first time
• Lack confidence in using the Shutterfly software, even if they have
created Shutterfly photo books in the past
• Want an update on the most recent Shutterfly photo book functionality

The training may also be somewhat useful for anyone who wants to use
Shutterfly to create other personalized products (calendars, mugs, pillows,
blankets, etc.).

Prior to starting this class, participants will need to have some experience with
computers and using the internet. They also need to be able to physically use a
computer and mouse. More specifically, prior to starting this course,
participants must be able to:
• Click, double-click, and hover with a mouse
• Locate their photos on a computer
• Open a browser and navigate to Shutterfly.com

for Course No formal assessment or certification.

Learning Assessment Informal quizzes – click in picture questions, multi-select questions, and
for RLO single-select questions

Instructional Delivery The training will be available entirely online and will be self-paced. Students
method for Course can work through the materials as they create their first Shutterfly photo book.
(overall) They will also be able to revisit the materials, if needed, for a refresher when
creating future Shutterfly projects.

Instructional Strategy Tutorial with an assessment that is almost scenario-based learning, but
for RLO likely doesn’t have enough guidance when the learner does something
unexpected to be considered true scenario-based learning

Media • Images (Screenshots, photos)

• Video (Screen capture)

• Text

• Audio (including captions)

508 Accommodations • Text size, font, and color follows 508 guidelines

• Feedback (correct or incorrect answers) will include both color and

text/icons

• Audio accompanying each screen can be stopped, paused, muted, or
