The HOD with the active participation of faculty members and based on the continuous feedback from

stakeholders develops the vision and mission statement of the department in alignment with Vision and
Mission of the University.  These statements are discussed further among faculty members before
finalization.  The new vision and mission statements are sent to the Board of Studies of the
department for approval.  Finally the Vision and Mission are approved by the Academic Council and
the Governing Council.

Functions of the Committee

• To frame the vision and mission of the college along with the POs and PEOs

• Identification of curricular gaps using input from the stakeholders and suggest necessary actions.

• Validate the department vision, mission and PEO.

• To monitor the academic performances of the staff members by going through their lesson plans and
log books.

• To organize periodical meetings to assess the effectiveness of teaching and discuss about the
improvements to be made in the curricular and co-curricular aspects.
