1 Description

1.1 Purpose
This guide is customized for maintaining tools for ESM-4850/4870 during the operation of
the software monitor.

1.1 Intended Audience


Battery maintenance engineers

1.2 Application Scenario


This guide helps device maintenance engineers initially locate and rectify faults when
emergencies occur.
This guide supports for Maintaining Monitor software version of V1.0.5 and Battery software
version of V200.
2 Before You Start

2.1 Prepare for the Maintain tools


Driver files
Setup the Driver file for USB-485.

Procedure
Step 1 Extract the file of win xp server2003 2008 2012 Vista 7 8 8.1 10 32-64bit.rar in the package.

NOTE

It could support for win7 in 32-bit and 64-bit and win 8

Step 1 Open the file and double click ‘CDM21216_Setup.exe’.

Step 2 Click ‘Extract’ in the surface and click as the guide.

1.2 Prepare PC and Battery


3.1 Connection

Step 3 The cable is used in the special design as the RS485 protocol and connected between the 485-box
and the battery.
Step 4 The other side of the box connects the USB port in the PC.

3 How to Use the Maintain Tool

Interface Description
In the interface of the maintain tool, there are many sections.

3.1 Connect the device
Step 1 As the description of Connection, click the button ‘Connect’.
The software connect the com X automatically and the indicator light goes to green.
Step 2 If you want to close the maintain tool, first to click ‘Disconnect’. The indicator light will go to gray.
And then close the tool.
Step 3 Read out the current software version.

3.2 Running Data


Running data fresh once every 5 seconds.
Include Battery Voltage, Battery Current, Battery Temperature, Remain Capacity, Total Discharge
Power, Battery Total Cycle Times.

3.3 Performance Data Exporting


Step 1 Select parameters what you want to export.
Step 4 Select the path where you want to export.
It could change the name of the file.
Step 5 Click ’Export’.

3.4 Parameter Setting


Step 1 Set the parameter value.
Click ‘submit’. It will be changed in few seconds.
Step 6 Set the date and time. For example 2017/04/26 and 14:00:00.
The initial date and time is 2000/01/01 00:00.

Step 7 Set the charge current limitation. The charge current limitation scale is 0 to 62A.
Step 8 Set the discharge current protection. The discharge current protection scale is 0 to 62A.
Step 9 Set the DO state NC or NO. NC is normally closed and NO is normally open.

NOTE

If the battery cut down or switch off with pushing the red button, the parameters will recover
to the initial state. It needs to reset.

3.5 Real-time Alarm Information


When alarm happened, it will show in the table.

3.6 History Alarm Exporting


Step 1 Select the parameters what you want to export.
Step 2 Choose the path and it could change the name of the file.
Step 3 Click ‘Export’.
