Analysis and interpretation of Data

 15 persons participated in the research 6% of the 15 respondents described themselves as

other, while 67% were males and 27% were females.
 Of the sample, 20% representing male and 7% representing females were employed. Also
7% of the respondents representing the category other were employed. 40% and 20%
representing male and female respondent respectively were all unemployed. What can be
seen is that more persons are unemployed that employed.
 The three reasons that were given for unemployment are, lack of education, jobs were not
available and peer pressure. Most respondents cited lack of education as against jobs not
being available and peer pressure. 74% identified lack of education while 13% identified
no job availability and peer pressure respectively.
 There are numerous ways in which parents can help prevent their children from
becoming unemployed. Parents can send their children to schools, 74% of the
respondents or allow them to set their own goals 26% of the respondents. This plainly
shows that there is a belief in the community that children are not properly educated, so
as to gain employment.
 The data shows that unemployed youths involve themselves in a variety of activities.
While some unemployed youths participate in community projects, others steal and
others abuse drugs. About twice of the amount of respondent (61%) suggest that
unemployed youths abuse drugs.
 Overall the respondents believe that authorities can help youths by providing training
centers or holding workshops or sharing out brochures on self-development. The vast
majority of the respondents (88%) feel that providing training centers is the best way to
go.
Recommendations

The researcher recommends that :

1. The authorities can mount programs so that unemployed youths can become qualified for jobs.
2. The community can ensure that there are recreational centers and unemployed youths are
given the opportunity to use their time wisely and not be involved in reckless activities.

Implementation strategy
1. The authorities can build training centers in the community and provide skills and training to
youths. In this way youths would gain the skills to make them employable.
2. The community can have fund raising activities and use the funds to build recreational facilities
where the youths can redirect their energy in socially acceptable ways.
Conclusion
In conclusion, there are more unemployed persons than unemployed youths in North Anna
Catherina. These persons being unemployed , gives a negative impact to themselves and the
community.

Parents , members of the community and the respective authorities can help youths either
prevent unemployment or become employable.
