1.0 Introduction

1.1 This method statement is limited to the installation of Cable Tray and Trunking as defined
in the specifications.

1.2 This shall ensure that the installation of Electrical Cable Tray and Trunking is installed in
accordance with the subcontract requirements and standard regulations.

2.0 References

2.1 Contract specifications

2.2 Approved shop drawings

2.3 Approved materials

2.4 MEW Regulations State of Qatar.

3.0 Procedure

3.1 Check drawings for correct revision and notes.

3.2 All material necessary to complete the works shall be approved

3.3 Co-ordinate drawings with other disciplines using the latest information received at time of
installation.

3.4 Mark out bracketing locations and install relevant brackets.

3.5 Check materials and equipment to specifications and RAS GAS approval.

3.6 Check Cable Tray Trunking route for clashes.

3.7 If clashes occur resolve in consultation with MEP Project Coordinator and Main Contractor
with RAS GAS approval.

3.8 Fix Tray / Trunking to supports with all necessary pre-fabricated fittings and accessories.

3.9 Check the cable trays and steel supports for sharp edges and burrs, repair or change any
defects and damages. Cuts and abrasion shall be treated with an approved cold galvanising
system.

3.10 Mark / identification of Cable Tray Trunking.

3.11 Check Cable Trays Trunking for proper alignment and levelling.

3.12 Ensure all tray joints are bonded properly and cable trays are connected to equipment
grounding system.

3.13 Electrical Engineer to check that Cable Tray Trunking are installed at the locations shown on
the approved drawings and are rigidly fixed prior to inspection by RAS GAS and prior to
fixing any cable work to them.

3.14 Complete punch item raised (if any).

3.15 On completion of final inspection and approval, continue with cable installation.

4.0 Documents

4.1 Inspection Test Schedule (ITS), Request for inspection (RFI).

5.0 Supervision

5.1 The works will be supervised by the Electrical Supervisor.
