A number of Dahua Network Video Recorders incorporate
a built-in switch supporting standard PoE and PoE+ port.
This offers proprietary plug and play functionality enabling
automatic streaming and recording of connected Dahua
network cameras. Device settings and recording
parameters can all be programmed via the intuitive NVR
graphical user interface, without the need for additional IP
configuration and integration support, bringing simplicity
to network installations.
4K Solutions
Dahua boast an extensive range of 4K and 12MP network
cameras offering Ultra High definition streaming with
exceptional video quality at low bitrates. Recorders
supporting these resolutions in both professional plug
and play and enterprise variants, provide a stable platform
with high bandwidth and direct 4K outputs for live display
and playback.
IVS and De-Warping

A range of cameras incorporating Intelligent Video
Surveillance (IVS) functions including Tripwire, Scene
Change, Object Removal/Abandonment, Face Detection
and in the case of PTZs Auto-Tracking. These can then
be reported back to the NVR as an alarm condition for
further investigation and triggering. Dahua NVRs also
support direct de-warping of live and recorded images
from 360-degree fisheye cameras (model dependent) with
panoramic views and e-PTZ control.

FEATURES
Four signals – one cable

In addition to high definition Video, HDCVI also
supports telemetry through the same cable connection
for full PTZ and motorised lens control, as well as
access and navigation of the OSD camera menus.
Audio transmission is also supported for cameras that
incorporate a built in mic or separate audio input.
Additionally, high-end cameras allow the signalling of
alarm contacts back to the recorder without the need
for additional cabling.
Long Distance Transmission

HDCVI operates over both co-axial cable and twisted
pair (with the use of passive balun products), achieving
a distance of 500m and 250m respectively with 4MP
(4K to follow shortly) resolution, without the need for
additional signal amplifiers or extenders. Longer distances
are supported with 720p resolution through Dahua’s
proprietary Auto Signal Compensation (ASC) technology.
Tribrid Recorders
All Dahua HDCVI recorders offer Tribrid functionality,
allowing any combination of both standard definition
analogue and HDCVI connections to be made via the
BNC inputs, together with a number of IP camera
streams, providing versatility for implementation in any
installation. These Tribrid models also support P2P for
easy set-up of remote viewing through mobile devices
and PCs.
Motorised Lens Cameras

The majority of varifocal lens HDCVI cameras offer the
added benefit of motorised lens control with remote
zoom and focus capability. The camera is simply
positioned towards the target area and then adjusted via
the Dahua test monitor tool or directly from the HDCVI
recorder. The motorised lens function considerably
shortens installation and servicing time, and ensures
optimal focus precision at all times.

Proprietary PoE Technology

The standard network based door entry panels and
indoor video monitors can be driven through Dahua’s
proprietary PoE switch, which provides centralised
power to the devices through the same network cable
connection. This makes wiring the system extremely
simple and offers a neat single cable solution.
Video Surveillance Integration

The video door entry system can effortlessly integrate
with Dahua’s network systems forming a complete
system solution. Entrance panel cameras can be
streamed back to the recorder as a network video input

DO'S
1. Make sure you change the password of all devices, Camera, NVR and Software at the start. Dahua recommends using
your engineer’s code as the admin account and let the end user choose a password for the 888888 user account.
2. C.C.A.C.A Check, Check And Check Again.
Check Firmware is all up-to-date.
Check Network and login.
Check recordings and record schedule.
Check all steps have been taken to preserve the life of the install, i.e. surge protection, water-sealed connections, IR is
unobstructed and recorder is fitted in a non-confined space.
3. Make sure all passwords are updated on software and mobiles. The software will try the default user and password,
and this could lock the account after repeated failed login attempts.
DON'TS
1. Don’t forget to set up a Time Sync and Daylight Saving. If the time is incorrect it could affect the evidential value of
the recordings.
2. Don’t forget to Back Up your installations config. If you backup your config upon completion this makes the site
easier to maintain. If there are problems in the future, you can refer back to the config and restore the system settings
quickly.
3. Don't forget to hand over all user material to the end user and give a full user demonstration.

Q. How do I set up a recording schedule?
A. Enter settings menu, click on storage and select schedule. You can now choose to record all events – motion, analytics or
continuous recording.

A. IDMSS for iPhone, please note the paid for App will enable push notifications.

Q. What ports on the router do I need to open in order to allow remote viewing?
A. By default the ports are set to (see table below). You need to open these ports on the router and forward them to the recorders

Q. How do I set up P2P?
A. Use the P2P function (No port forwarding required). Select settings, then network, from the menu on the left hand side click on
P2P. Then tick/click enable. If the message appears it is successfully connected and then the recorder is Online. Using the app click
on device manager and the Add symbol in the top right hand corner. Then select P2P from the list. Press the QR code on the mobile/
tablet screen. You can now take a photo of the QR code on the display using the camera on your device. You should have already
changed the password at this point, so you will need to enter the new password on the app before clicking start live preview.
Insert a Name for your CCTV system.

Q. How do I register an IP Camera to a HCVR or NVR?
A. Go to settings, camera and then remote. You can perform a device search to view devices on the network. Tick the camera you
want to add and then click ADD. It will automatically try the default username and password. If you haven't already changed the
password, Dahua advises all passwords should be changed. You will need to click the pencil highlighted in the image below and edit
the cameras password to connect to the recorder.

Q. How do I change the time and date after daylight saving has occurred?
A. Daylight saving can be programmed in the recorder so you don’t have to keep managing the time settings yourself. Go to system,
general and then make sure IPC time sync is ticked. Then select date and time from the central part of the screen. Please tick DST
and select the dates for the clock to change. If your machine is networked, tick NTP and sync with windows time.
Don’t forget to click save and apply.
Q. How do I play back footage on my recorder?
A. Enter the main menu and click on Search, on the right hand side of the screen you will see times and dates and channel view
options. Select the appropriate one you require. The timeline at the bottom of the screen will turn green. Click on the play icon
when you are ready.
Q. How do I back up footage to a USB?
A. Click on Back Up from the Main menu. Select the USB device from the drop down menu on the screen. Then select the time and
date you need to back footage up from. Make sure you select the appropriate camera number or select ALL cameras to back up all
footage. Click add, files will now appear on the screen. Make sure the boxes are ticked next to the files and click start. This will
back up footage.

Q. Camera image is good in day time but not at night?
A. Check picture and nothing is blocking the IR (Infra-red). Remove anything blocking the IR i.e. cobwebs or overgrown bushes. Any
other issues please contact your installer.
Q. My recorder keeps beeping, what should I do?
A. The recorder is beeping to alert you to a problem. Go to main menu and select Log. Once opened this will tell you what is
happening to cause the alerts (beeping). Typically it is a hard drive fault or video loss from one of the cameras, the log will
tell you this information.
Q. The app will not display my cameras as soon as I open it?
A. The app is designed to work this way to stop big mobile bills and constantly streaming data. A quick way to connect to your home/
business is to create a favourite. Please see steps below:

Q. How do I add a user to the NVR?
A. Go to system settings and click on account on the left hand side. Now you can add a user, select their password and the
privileges you will give that user access to i.e. they can view live but not move PTZ cameras or watch playback.

P2P allows very simple setup for viewing data or images, in Dahua's case it's done by simply scanning a system generated QR
code on your mobile device.

Detects if there is a human face appearing in the video. System captures the face and then sends it to the recorder for analysis and
processing. Capable of activating snapshot, record and alarm.
PEOPLE COUNTING
Produces statistics of people entering and leaving the specific area of the image. Produces different types of data reports: select
daily, monthly or yearly reports. Two presentation options: line chart or bar chart. Data export function.

HEAT MAP
Records crowd density statistics within the set time range and displays in different colours. Colour level is divided into
red, orange, yellow, green and blue. This means the crowd density ranges from high to low, with red representing high
density and blue low density.
FISHEYE DEWARP
Dewarp is the term used to describe the adjustment of a 360 degree image so it is usable on a standard monitor. This also allows
display of multiple simultaneous views taken from a single 360 camera and can be done in live mode or with recorded footage.
Dewarp can also be provided by Dahua NVR (NVR Pro and Ultra series) and Dahua SmartPSS software, with multiple dewarping
mode: 1P+1R, 1O, 1O+8R.
