DIGITAL/IP SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS

TYPES OF SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS

Analog Surveillance Cameras uses DVR (Digital

Video Recorder) and Coaxial cable.
All cameras are directly connected to the DVR.

TYPES OF SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS

Digital/IP Cameras
•This system supports high resolution cameras.
• Supports Remote viewing.
• The cameras contained a web server, memory slot, software, &
allow for live view in a browser utility.
• You need to have basic understanding of networking to
administer this type of system. Know things like, Ethernet, TCP/IP,
IP Addresses & Subnetting, Routers & Switches.
CCTV TERMINOLOGIES
CCTV TERMINOLOGIES
PIXEL

A pixel is really nothing more than a piece of information.

A pixel describes where the information is located on the screen and
what color it is.

100 x 100 12 x 12 5x5

All 3 pictures above are the same. The only thing different about them, is the
number of pixels used to describe each picture.
CCTV TERMINOLOGIES

RESOLUTION

Resolution is the term used to describe the number of dots, or pixels, used to
display an image.
Higher resolutions mean that more pixels are used to create the image,
resulting in a crisper & cleaner image.

BULLET CAMERAS
DOME CAMERAS
BOX / C-MOUNT CAMERAS
VANDAL PROOF CAMERAS
PTZ CAMERAS
TYPES OF CCTV

BULLET CAMERAS

The camera derives its name from its sleek, thin cylindrical shape.
TYPES OF CCTV

BULLET CAMERAS

•Can be wall-mount or ceiling-mount.

•Typically designed for outdoor use.
•Can also be used for indoor applications.
•It capture images from a fixed area.

which they sit.

• Commonly install indoors.

• Covered with a glass dome so that they cannot be

camera left or right (pan); up and down (tilt); and zoom the lens in
or out.
•More applicable in surveillance situations where there is an actual
live guard or surveillance specialist monitoring the images
