Act II Emoji Activity

Directions: Now that you’ve finished Act II of Romeo and Juliet, I want you to think of a series
of emojis (3-5) that explain or summarize the Act. After you choose your emojis, please write a
short explanation (a few sentences) that describe why you chose these emojis to represent Act
🥳 🎉😃
II. Have fun with this!!

Explanation:
The emojis that I chose symbolize certain events that had occured Act II. The crying emoji
signifies Romeo’s depression and gloominess towards the start of the act before he had gone to
the Capulet’s party. The party emoji signifies the Capulet’s party where Romeo met Juliet for the
first time. The heart eyed emoji signifies Romeo and Juliets first glance at each other, and how
they “fell in love.” Lastly, the unsure face shows Friar Laurence’s initial thoughts on Romeo and
Juliet’s blessing for marriage. Originally he wasn’t too fond of this idea but eventually gave in,
thinking that it would stop the family feud.
