5A Vocabulary: Adjectives describing attitude

Realistic: (adjective) accepting the true facts of situation and not basing decisions on things that
will not happen. + I have to be realistic and accept that I can’t do all the work by myself.

Unrealistic: (adjective) not thinking about what is likely to happen or what you can really do.
+ I was unrealistic to think I would get the job.

Adventurous: (adjective) willing to try new and often difficult things. + We´re quite adventurous –
last weekend we even tried skydiving.

Cautious: (adjective) taking care to avoid risks or danger. + I’m cautious about lending money to
people.

Thoughtful: (adjective) kind and always thinking about how you can help other people. + it was

Critical: (adjective) saying that someone or something is bad or wrong. + My boss is very critical of
the way I work.

Reliable: (adjective) able to be trusted or believed. + he´s very reliable – if he says he´ll do
something, he´ll do it.

Unreliable: (adjective) not able to be trusted or depended on. + I hope they don’t give the project
to her. She´s too unreliable

Well-organized: (adjective) working in an effective and successful way because of good

organization. + This is really busy job, so you need to be very well-organized.

Disorganized: (adjective) not good at planning or organizing things. + I used to be really

disorganized, but now I try to write everything down.

Responsible: (adjective) showing good judgment and able to be trusted. I think you´ll be a great
manager. You´re always very responsible.

Irresponsible: (adjective) not thinking about the possible bad results of what you are doing. + Don

Sympathetic: (adjective) showing that you understand and care about someone´s problems. + He
