WEDDING RECEPTION SCRIPT

Hanah: Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen. May I have your attention, please. We
are about to begin our wedding reception. So, please locate your respective seats and
make yourself comfortable.

*guests will find their seats*

Edison: Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen. May I have your attention, please. The
program will begin in 10 minutes. You may enjoy having your pictures taken with each
other and please locate your respective seats.

*waiting time: 10 minutes*

Hanah and Edison: a very good afternoon to everyone and welcome to Nolasco and
Enriquez’s wedding reception. We are your hosts for this afternoon, I am Hanah and I
am Edison.

Hanah: Thank you for making time to be part of this journey of love, especially to those
who have travelled for so many miles or to those who took a leave of absence.

Edison: Ladies, gentlemen, friends and loved ones, the newly weds extend their
heartfelt gratitude to all of you to celebrate their new life as a couple. So, sit down, relax
and enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

Hanah: First, we would like to introduce you to the parents of the couple

Edison: A warm round of applause groom’s mother, Mrs Benedicta Nolasco.

Hanah: The bride’s parents- Kapitan Raul Enriquez and Mrs. Narcisa Enriquez

Edison: Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great honor and gratitude that we now
introduce to you the young at heart and spirit, the gracious and generous, the principal

Hanah: Today calls for a grand celebration, and it is my distinct pleasure to introduce
them to you for the very first time tonight as husband and wife. So, without further ado,

Edison: And now, we would like to clear the dance floor for everyone except our bride
and groom to have this special time with the groom’s first woman, and the bride’s first
man in their respective lives. May we request Mrs Benedicta Nolasco, the mother of the
groom for the mother and groom dance.

Hanah: May we request Mr Raul Enriquez, the father of the bride to approach his
daughter for the father and daughter dance. Ladies and gentlemen, a round of applause

Edison: And now the father gives his daughter to the groom.

Hanah: Tonight, is indeed a special night, and well be forever etched in the memory of
our beloved couple on this joyful beginning what could be more fitting than to celebrate
it with their first dance. The first dance is symbolic of the consummation of their wedding
vows. This dance is the wedding couple’s first cooperative engagement and joint
endeavor. Ladies and gentlemen, it is once again my privilege to present to you Mr and
Mrs Nolasco with their first dance.

Edison: Now, we will proceed with the releasing of white dove. This represents the bride
and groom as they began their life’s journey together in purity and with no regrets of
their past.

Hanah: Good news! The food is now ready, and dinner will commence shortly. Before
that, may we invite the sister of our beautiful bride to pray for our food.

Edison: At this point, to maintain order, the emcees will be calling your table number to
proceed to the location of the couple for a photo opportunity. Right after that, they can
line up at the buffet counter to get their dinner. Please wait for your table number to be
called.

DINNER TIME

Hanah: May we request the couple to proceed to the cake’s table…Ladies and
gentlemen, please direct your attention to the cake cutting tradition. The husband and
wife will put their hands together to slice the cake.

Edison: The two hands moving as one with one purpose, symbolizes that the two will
work in unity to reach common goals for their shared future and their life together as
one. The sharing of this food symbolizes the couple’s willingness to fulfill each other’s
needs creating a bond so simple and yet so strong.

Hanah: In all sense of the word, Godparents are guardians of the faith. The bride and
groom should treat this role not merely as gift giver during nuptials; but as co-sharers to
the promise of a lifetime of Christian commitment. And the godparents to give their
message to the couple, Let’s welcome _________

Edison: To symbolize and celebrate the blending of your two lives into one, I invite you
to perform the wine ceremony.

Hanah: The arms of the couple will intertwine as they drink wine. This ceremony
represents your two individual lives, now intertwined; combined like the two glasses
wine into one single life. The drinking of the combined wine signifies the commitment
you now make to live your lives as one family. May you remember this day of
commitment you have sealed with drinking of the new wine joining your lives as one.

Hanah: Now, we would like to proceed with messages from the siblings of the couple.
These are the people who literally saw the romance between groom and bride blossom
into a serious relationship. May we call on the sister of the bride… Let us hear a

Edison: Tonight, let us add some fun and excitement to our beautiful event. May we
request all the single gentlemen out there to proceed in front.

Hanah: So, here’s the twist, you will all be given a card, but you’re not allowed to open it
yet. There is one card among all those cards that has the name of our lovely couple.
And if you are holding that card, you are the lucky guy who will have a photo opportunity
with the newlyweds.

Edison: Now, let us call all the single ladies to go in front.

Edison: You will be given one rose, and once the music starts you need to pass this
rose to the person next to you. If the music stops, the person holding the rose will be
our lucky lady for tonight

Hanah: Thank you to our winners and to all single ladies and gentlemen who
participated in our short game.

Hanah: It is said that our parents are our first teachers having raised us patiently from
childhood to adulthood. They have been our source of comfort, support, and inspiration.
Without them, our newlyweds will not be here. Let us welcome the parents of the couple
to give their message.

Edison: Before we end this memorable event, we will witness the giving of gift of our
newly weds to each other. These gifts have a symbolic meaning to the lives of our
couple.

Hanah: The night and this reception have almost come to an end but for our newlyweds
it is just a start of their new life together, as we go home, may this day for all of us as it
is to them. To personally convey their heartfelt gratitude let us now lend an ear to the
newlyweds
