Design Validation Plan (DVP) Guidelines
1. Format
1.1 The same format must be used by the teams. No other formats shall be accepted.
Enter the team ID, team Name and target vehicle completion date (as per fabrication plan) at the
1.2
boxes given at the top of the sheets.
At this stage, only a plan is required, the actual validation will be done after the vehicle
completion. Hence the data under headinds "Test Observations" & "Results" are not required
1.4 during submission of DVP. These cells are highlighted in Blue colour, any test data is not
required. However, general statements/text required for DVP preparation may be entered in these
blue cells.
Teams may include additional sheet in the workbook for each type of test for detailed validation
1.5
of particular subsystem/parameter.
Separate checklists/record sheets may be prepared by the team for each type of trial runs/
validation tests when multiple measurements are to be taken. During on-field test runs, record
1.6
sheets may be used to note the test observations. If prepared, these checklists may be included in
the DVP document as a separate worksheet during submission.
Teams are advised to make the design validation plan (DVP) in as much detail as possible so that
1.7 the durability, performance and the quality of the vehicle can be ensured before the actual
participation in main event.
During DVP preparation, workout on the different type of validation methods for system under
1.8 validation and choose the best one according to the ease of validation and availability of
resources.
In case of any problem faced related to format, teams must immediately write to
