STRAP
Why Work Through Back 2 Loops?
Working through the back 2 loops assists with making the sides
Ch 16 loosely. stand straighter when transitioning from the bottom to the sides of
the bag.
Row 1: Working in back ridge of ch, sc in 2nd
ch from hook and ea ch across; turn. 15 sc.
Rows 2-4: Ch 1, sc in ea sc across. Do not
finish off.
BUTTON LOOP
At end of Row 4, ch 8, join to first sc on
opposite side. Turn and sl st in ea ch, fasten off
to first sc. Weave in ends.
FINISHING
Fold bag in half with opening to the side. Sew
strap approximately 1/2” down from the top of
the bag. Sew button approximately 1/2” down
from the top of the bag on the other side.
Ta-da!
NOTES
The rolls of bags I use measure 1-1/4”
diameter x 2-1/2” high. If yours are bigger,
simply add more rounds to the bottom or rows
to the cylinder-part of the bag to fit. If close If the button you are using is smaller or bigger,
enough, it may just take changing to the next simply adjust the number of chains made for
hook size up. Either way, the design concept is the button loop to correspond and finish as
so simple that alterations can easily be made. instructed.
